Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

I have no received a pre-auth on my credit card either. Called Verizon and my order is in a pending system status until they process my order. Apparently there is queue of orders that still need to be processed. I am able to see the order status through the link everyone is using and have been told by 3 different Verizon reps and the online order department that this is normal until pre-orders come out of pending status. I ordered at 10:26 AM Sept. 14th.

According to Verizon those without Pre-Auths should be in the queue awaiting processing.

This is like my iPhone 4 Pre-Order redux. Verizon almost always uses FedEx. You're best shot would be to follow these steps:

1. Visit FedEx Tracking through this URL: https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking?cntry_code=us
2. Locate your location (warehouse) code and your order number using the page here: https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/iconic/screens/IconicSearchInit.do
3. In the FedEx page, use the following template to find your tracking info: [locationcode]_000[6digitorder#]. Eg: D771001_000192812

That should bring up the tracking page after you fill out your zip code and whatnot. Try it!

My iPhone shipped with UPS last year. Do you know how that number would be formatted?

be specific, i placed the order at this date and time, trying to see if there is a transaction or preauthorization charge. The first banker i spoke to told no there isnt one... then said oh wait its for $0 weird ive never seen one like that. (me either usually its $1)

I called the other day and there was nothing.
I just called again after reading what you posted and they did a pre authorization charge, man I feel so much better!

not they did not. just that when the order came out of pending status i would be pre-authed then charge for the phone when the device was released to the shipper
 
I wonder how many people preordered last Friday and are patiently waiting for their new bright shiny toy to arrive. Seems like no one on this forum...CHILL OUT! Geez, speculating what the delivery tracking number is now? Go watch some porn, play WoW, or whatever they hell else you use the internet for.

I was puzzled about the $0 authorization, too, but apparently it's a new(er) form of account verification to cut down on card balance confusion.

Yeah I made sure to ask if it was $0 or $1 and it was $0! That's a lot of stress taken off haha

Yeah, that number would be formatted without the underscore. I won't know for sure until I get the reference number from those who claim that their phone actually shipped. I can then try to decode everything from there. It is likely that Apple and Verizon won't provide tracking details until it has been scanned for the first time in the US. They very well could be floating around somewhere in the world.

Apple-shipped phones are floating around Korea and China at this time. They have then hit almost every country in the US just so that it lands perfectly on launch. They cray.

  • 2 digit order number - D771001_000000012
  • 3 digit order number - D771001_000000123

  • 7 digit order number - D771001_001234567
 
My Iphone 5 black silicon case came in today. I ordered it the same time I got my preorder confirmation email.

I tried watching porn, but all I see are spinning iPhones over the bewbs. I'm afraid it's going to be all iPhone, all the time until I get my grubby mitts on that sweet, sweet black rectangle.
 
Ordered mine at 3:15am/eastern on the 14th and still have the, "We received your order and it is in process" order status.... I'm hoping I receive some sort of update tonight.
 
Shipped!

Just got my email saying that my phone has shipped. Card has now been charged too. Looks like they're starting.
