we haven't had a drop of precipitation in 2 months and in the last 10 minutes it's turned into a white-out blizzard.

figures.

now I'm refreshing the FedEx screen and expecting it to say something about weather delays.

AND every time I hear a big gust of wind, I think it's the FedEx truck. :(

Maybe I should start shoveling a path to the FedEx distribution facility from my front door.

Well, my iPhones were scheduled for deliver by 10:30am this morning, and I knew I wouldn't be there because of class, so I left a signed release form.

Apparently they aren't accepting releases and are requiring you to be in person.

Another day wait :(.

So Sorry. :(

Well, my iPhone came at around 11:30am.

I plug it into iTunes, while backing up my blackberry. It activates under the # I used for the upgrade price, not my #. My mom is probably so pissed right now because her phone is useless!

What a headache. It activates entirely by itself, so watch out if your in this situation.

This will be my situation... good thing she comes home somewhat early from work.

Not so lucky...

I was waiting at home like many others and was ecstatic when mine arrived a little before 10am. When I connected it to my macbook, as the directions specify, my iTunes said, "We're sorry, your iPhone is not recognized and cannot be activated for service. We recommend you visit your nearest Apple store for more information." The screen is also very strange and looks nothing like the pics in the Apple Finger Tips Quick start guide. I cannot tell you how disappointed and disheartened I am. : ( to the extreme...

I'm in this situation... How do you activate it to your own number then?

Here are some very helpful instructions from a poster on the Verizon forums:

"NOTE THAT IF YOU DO IT THIS WAY, THE IPHONE WILL NEVER BE ACTIVATED ON THE LINE YOU ORDERED IT ON, ONLY THE LINE YOU ULTIMATELY WANTED TO USE IT ON. THIS WORKED FOR ME FOLKS.

If you bought your phone on a different line than you want to use it on:

Turn off the phone that is on the line you eventually want the iPhone to be activated on.

Go to MyVerizon Home and choose Activate a Device.

Choose the line YOU BOUGHT THE PHONE ON.

When you get to the activation page, you will see the iPhone ready to activate. Click the box to accept the agreement, but choose "Activate Later," NOT "Activate Now."

Go back to MyVerizon Home and choose Activate a Device again. This time, choose the line you want the iPhone on.

When you get to the place where you enter the ESN/MEID, enter the iPhone ESN from your paperwork that came with the phone and click submit.

If everything is OK, you should now be able to plug your device into iTunes and activate it there.

However, my phone was still turned on, so this did not work for me. (And having the phone on may not have been the problem, not sure).

When I clicked "Submit" after entering my ESN, I got a message saying the phone could not be activated and it gave a 800 number to call.

Call the 800 number and ask them to switch the iPhone to the desired line.

Plug into iTunes, accept the agreements and your iPhone will be activated.

I made a call to my wife immediately and everything seems fine. I am now restoring a backup from my iPod touch so that I have all my apps and data from that device.

Hope this helps!"

IT CAME!! FedEx just left. The guy said that the Verizon packages are pretty much all he's delivering today and he expects it to be that way for the next month! I'm off to play! AND shower!!! :D
