Well, my iPhone came at around 11:30am.

I plug it into iTunes, while backing up my blackberry. It activates under the # I used for the upgrade price, not my #. My mom is probably so pissed right now because her phone is useless!

What a headache. It activates entirely by itself, so watch out if your in this situation.

Did you call verizon first? They told us when we ordered we had to order under the upgradeable line but to call before we activated to tell them we want to transfer the upgrade to another line. Havent got ours yet so let us know how it goes

Here are some very helpful instructions from a poster on the Verizon forums:

"NOTE THAT IF YOU DO IT THIS WAY, THE IPHONE WILL NEVER BE ACTIVATED ON THE LINE YOU ORDERED IT ON, ONLY THE LINE YOU ULTIMATELY WANTED TO USE IT ON. THIS WORKED FOR ME FOLKS.

If you bought your phone on a different line than you want to use it on:

Turn off the phone that is on the line you eventually want the iPhone to be activated on.

Go to MyVerizon Home and choose Activate a Device.

Choose the line YOU BOUGHT THE PHONE ON.

When you get to the activation page, you will see the iPhone ready to activate. Click the box to accept the agreement, but choose "Activate Later," NOT "Activate Now."

Go back to MyVerizon Home and choose Activate a Device again. This time, choose the line you want the iPhone on.

When you get to the place where you enter the ESN/MEID, enter the iPhone ESN from your paperwork that came with the phone and click submit.

If everything is OK, you should now be able to plug your device into iTunes and activate it there.

However, my phone was still turned on, so this did not work for me. (And having the phone on may not have been the problem, not sure).

When I clicked "Submit" after entering my ESN, I got a message saying the phone could not be activated and it gave a 800 number to call.

Call the 800 number and ask them to switch the iPhone to the desired line.

Plug into iTunes, accept the agreements and your iPhone will be activated.

I made a call to my wife immediately and everything seems fine. I am now restoring a backup from my iPod touch so that I have all my apps and data from that device.

Hope this helps!"

Sounds much easier than going through the hassle of switching numbers a few times. Thank youuu!

IT CAME!! FedEx just left. The guy said that the Verizon packages are pretty much all he's delivering today and he expects it to be that way for the next month! I'm off to play! AND shower!!! :D

Happy iPhone day!

Yes, still waiting here. :) If FedEx tracking system is accurate, I should get it by 5 PM (local time) today... it's only 8:50 AM so have a long time to wait.

Well...it's 6am here so I guess I'll be getting it last...well maybe except those in Hawaii lol

Well it seems people are getting it earlier than the estimated time so you may not have to wait that long. :)

I would sleep to make time go by faster but other than having to work, I know exactly what would happen, knowing my luck, if I slept.

I get an error that says to call when I accept the terms and hit activate later on the Verizon page. I wish this way would work for me.

...that's exactly what the instructions say. You should get an error, and then you should call. Have no fear!:D

Thanks, but unfortunately I have to work until 4:30 PM today... not that I plan to get much done being on the forum all day. :D At least my shipping address is my parents' house, so it should be there by the time I get off work and go to their house.

Well it seems people are getting it earlier than the estimated time so you may not have to wait that long. :)

is the FEDEX sight still "down"? Mine still hasn't updated at all from 7:14 am and it still says "at FEDEX facility".
Boy I will be PO'd if is doesn't come today after I have been sitting here going NUTS all day:rolleyes:

ohh its a beauty! All set up, but some advice. The websites are slow and my home internet is, too. I failed the set up through itunes. After much fretting and panic, I called Verizon. They were great! And Patient! Directed me to the Verizon activation page and it was done in just a few clicks. I also downloaded the transfer app. It went smooth and all is well. I am loving this thing.

If it helps, I ordered from Verizon at 4 am EST. Live in Michigan and it was shipped FedEx. My tracking page was good til this morning. It never did switch to " out for delivery". :):p:D:apple::apple::apple:

Same for me.

I think we'll still get them today, though. Mine is in a warehouse only 10 miles away, afterall (well, it better be on a truck right now but, yeah. :p)
