Ordered at 3am. Still no email for tracking. *611 says shipped but no tracking number. Called and a CSR says you'll get a # when it's shipped. They have no idea whats going on. What a cluster duck.

I'm re-posting this for the benefit of those who just came around recently

Ok...I got in touch with an old Fedex buddy who works at a hub. The news of the iphones came down about 2 weeks ago. He said that following the instructions he received, the iphones will start shipping from the main hubs tomorrow, which will have them arriving on Monday for Monday delivery. He informed me that they are already getting early counts and he has 800 just coming to my area alone.

He said that if people are getting them early, they somehow slipped through the system and are very lucky. As for UPS he said they may be using them as overflow, but as far as he knows they should be under the same guidelines.

There ya go folks...Monday for everyone unless you have one that skipped through. I promise you this is a trusted source.

Also stop calling the Verizon and Apple reps. They are going to continue telling you guys the 10th because if they tell you earlier and it doesn't arrive and then you complain, they will possibly lose there jobs.

I wonder if one day you can actually see your package on GPS on FedEx or UPS' website...

That's what we need.

Just a quick related story....

I've been sitting at my boyfriends house today, as I have no classes, waiting for HIS package to arrive (not an iPhone but something very, very important that DEFINITELY should not just be left outside without sig confirmation) because he's at work. So I'm sitting here, waiting, waiting... still no package. Finally, he texts me saying "good, you got the package." I was like, WTF? I go outside, and leaning against the garage door is the package. It was from FedEx, with strict orders for signature confirmation. They didn't even knock. I wouldn't even know that the package was delivered if my boyfriend hadn't checked the status online and told me. So I've been sitting here all day at his request because there was no way this thing was gonna be delivered without me answering the door and signing.

Go figure.

Who on this forum would ever complain :)

I have a 3000 something order number but I added a car charger so I'm sure that's why I haven't gotten any tracking information although yesterday the verizon status check show "shipped".

Has anyone been able to check their status via Verizon's website? It keeps failing today for me.

I have been able to use their system. Nothing has changed, but it's working.

Order numbers have little to do with anything. My order number is 1,238,164 and I ordered well before 3am EST

Okay I didn't know if it made a difference.

Nice to know his package is in good hands

Yeah, I can see it now:

*click* "Is that my package? Why is it all crushed and torn?"
*call rep*
*rep puts you on hold*
*picture of your package is mysteriously no longer available*
Rep: "What package?"

At first glance I would say no...that seems way too dangerous. However, you could just ship a gps device with a package if you were looking to do something evil I guess.

My tracking hasn't moved all day. The latest info is West Chester, PA, United States, 02/03/2011 4:05 P.M., Origin Scan.

Anyone else???

DHL actually experimented with this, but it turned out to be a hassle for the delivery men because people would see that their order was across town and they'd drive there and try to get the driver to give them the package right then and there.

Damn West Chester orders....so close to the tri state area and yet they won't deliver today, not even to the people who live in West Chester probably!

There has to be some kind of Apple hold going on...

Mines been at the same...

West Chester, PA, United States 02/03/2011 4:25 P.M. Origin Scan
United States 02/03/2011 6:21 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Earlier I was so hopefull we would have it by tonight, but without a departure scan I'm not thinking so now...I did call UPS earlier and she said sometimes scans are missed and by the calculations of all my info it should be here at the end of the business day...

Ordering from apple.com was obviously a poor choice. I don't understand why those of us ordering from there are getting the shaft. Mine still says "Prepared for Shipment"

Order Number: W267278190
Order Date: Feb 3, 2011 at 12:04 AM PST

I am in Manhattan and ordered 2:55am...it sayed "Shipped" yesterday but I still haven't received any tracking info and cannot access any confirmation page anymore. Anyone else in the same situation?

I'm in Manhattan too (small world) and I also ordered prior to 3am, but I have gotten my shipped email and a tracking number, and UPS recognizes it, but it doesn't say when it'll get delivered, but I assume Monday.

Some people were asking for things to do this weekend while they wait for their package to arrive.

-Make sure your iTunes is up-to-date
-Transfer any pictures/videos/voicemails from your old phone to your computer
-Buy a protective case
-Build a shrine

Good call there Jersey girl! Hey, btw, I plan on going raw when I get my new phone....errrrrrr, uhhhhh, what I mean to say is, I plan on using the iPhone with no case at all, no skin, no bumpers, no second skin, no condom over it, no ziploc bag, no sheepskin, nothing...having never had an iPhone before, does anyone think I'm crazy not to get some protection? I just think this phone is like sexual chocolate man! Style-wise, she's a beauty! Why would I hide her glorious curves??? Thoughts?

Got my tracking info from Fedex, waiting here in Boston, probably Monday now at this point :-(

I give up. At least for today, and possibly Monday. STILL NO TRACKING NUMBER.

And, in typical Verizon fashion (been with them for 8 years), the right hand has no clue what the left hand is doing.

Kudos to training your employees well, Verizon.

:p

But seriously. If there's ever a package that they should have made sure was signed for and taken inside, it was this one. I'm shocked-I've had to sign for ridiculous items for FedEx, but not for this? Not even a knock to make me aware that a package arrived. Glad I was here anyways because I was able to take it inside.
