I believe a couple years ago you just took your phone into the retail location or shipped it in. Then you'd get your credit posted to your account.

Is the deal something that's added to the cart? Otherwise couldnt we just walk into a store after we get iPhone 7 and give them old phone?

Well the thing is the typical trade in for let says iPhone 6 64GB is only about $200. This trade in promotion is much better if you can get it.

I'm confused, so we have to wait for some weird link to become available after preorders go live? Watch the link not even work.

I see the iPhone 7 models listed in the My Verizon app on my iPad Air 2, but NOT on my iPhone 6 Plus.

They get you staying with them versus going to T-Mobile or Sprint, as they are both offering similar deals.
Here is how I read it... trade-in a iPhone 6/s for $650 credit... which is applied to your account over 24mons. So you have to stay with VZ for 2yrs to receive the full credit. But if you leave before the credit is fully applied you have to pay the balance of the cost of the iPhone 7. So it's not different than a 2yr contract, they're just shifting the numbers around to make it seem like a deal. With the acceptation of the $20 vs $40 line fee, which you can dispute and get lowered when agreeing to extend your contract. I would also have to pay $36 extra per month to have the phone.

The Scam... VZ will give you $650 spread out over 24mons (26-27mons since its says 2-3mons before credit starts) ... you pay VZ $30+ per month for the new phone and they reimburse it back to you over the 24mons. If you leave before then too bad, pay off the phone and lose your credit. So they have you money to invest, spend and do as they please (cause they're selling that old phone) and you have to stick around for 2yrs to get your return.

I don't get this part "which you can dispute and get lowered when agreeing to extend your contract.". I don't see how you can fight to go from $40/month to $20/month.

I used the Verizon app. Went to devices, upgrade device. The phones don't show up under Apple devices so I went to the chat when you hit the magnifier and + icon at top right. Type in whatever device. "iPhone 7 plus". The automated chat shows you a link. Go to it and you see the device and go through the whole process. Did it on my i6Plus

read my edit... its not a deal if you look at the entire thing. it'll take 26-27mons before you get your full $650 credit plus you have to pay an additional $30+ for the phone. even with a 20$ line fee you end up paying more. It looks like a deal since you do not have to pay out hundreds on day one but you pay more and VZ benefits even more if you leave.

Thank you, I confirmed this works, but no option to add promo code for $650 trade in

that CS rep is wrong it is written in bold text on the ad posted 24 mons.
well they might be wrong its a good deal. Also if you get discounts on your line access fee it makes it even better. For example on one of my lines the 6 + 64 has way more money still left to pay compared to what I would get via the trade in which is 300.00

I see what you are saying, but the $30+/month is offset by the $27 you get back in credit every month, so you are really only pay them $4 a month for the next 24 month (or 26-27 months). Plus, my whole assumption is that I won't be leaving them until my 2 years is up.

My previous post shows how I did it with app

Thanks it worked smoothly. I did it for one of my friend who was planning on giving his iPhone 6+ away. So no trade-in for him either way.
