Verizon Order Status Changed!

My credit card is still not charged delivery date is 9/19 on my confirmation e-mail however website doesn't state any shipping information on my order right now. Waiting and waiting...

I ordered space grey 16GB iPhone 6 at about 2:55am ET. Didn't receive confirmation email, but after talking to customer service was able to get preorder confirmation number and assurance that all was correct and phone was scheduled to ship by 9/19.

Last night my credit card was charged. Today received email from Verizon with FedEx tracking number. Email says scheduled to arrive on 9/19. FedEx website says scheduled to arrive on 9/18. That would be great, but I'll be happy with 9/19.

One thing I learned through this process is that you may have to talk to more than one Verizon representative to get correct and useful information. I talked to three of them and online chatted with one. Last one could actually look at my confirmation email and seemed to genuinely want to help but couldn't resend it! I've received excellent service in past, so they must have either hired brand new people to handle the iPhone rush and not trained them or trained everyone to not be helpful. Just getting a confirmation number took two calls. I learned that "telesales" is where online order info goes, but you don't actually ever get to talk to anyone there, nor do customer care reps.

To get my 5s last year I ended up canceling my Verizon order after delivery was delayed for a month and I bought my phone at a Best Buy three days after the release date.

Some insight on the Fed-Ex and the 18th Deliveries



Everyone Check your fed-ex tracking numbers! If you have a surprising delivery date of 9/18 on Fed-Ex's site, it will soon change to 9/19.

The reason:
The phones are leaving the Verizon Distribution center as they are fulfilled and handed over to Fed-ex. They will then be put on "HOLD" at a secure Fed-ex warehouse for the rest of the week, and will be released Wednesday or Thursday night (based on your distance from Fed-ex hubs) to just make delivery on 9/19. Apple and Verizon has paid big bucks to not let them loose before then. But rest be assured a few phones will accidentally get past this "hold" pattern. But the majority will be coming on the 19th.


For those without a tracking number yet, be patient.
As the distribution center processes your order, it is added to that "hold facility shipment" for that day. So some of you may not see your number come up until mid-week. As long as Verizon gave you a delivery date of 9/19, barring you have no order changes or credit card issues, you will get the phone on time.
