I still have unlimited data - so if I buy the i6 at full retail, I can still trade in the old iphone 4 i have for the $200 card right? I asked a rep online and they said I indeed would be able to.

I have the same question about preordering through Apple instead of Verizon and still being able to get the promotional value for the trade in.

I wish we could get solid answers to these questions. While chatting with Verizon, they said that they will not be offering in-store pickup and only shipping.

The website FAQ's seems to indicate you have to order through verizon directly:

When can I trade my old iPhone and purchase the new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus?

Starting on 9/12/14 you can visit verizonwireless.com and place your preorder for the new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

Once your purchase is complete, visit the online trade-in website to submit your trade request. You must submit your trade between 9/12/14 & 9/30/14 to receive this promotion.

The rep on the phone I spoke to read me directly for the information on their "internal site" (she said it was internal because I asked for a link so I could read where she was reading) and she said to receive the trade-in promotion, it has to be through a Verizon store or Verizon's site. She said it cannot be any third party retailer like Best Buy, Radioshack, etc. I assume that include purchasing the phone at Apple. They want you to buy it through them.

Ranand,

Thanks for your inquiry. The iPhone 6 trade in promo is only through Verizon Wireless directly. You can always use our standard trade in program; www.trade-in.vzw.com and purchase your phone through Apple. Although, the value of your trade in may not be as high this route. Let us know if you have any other questions.

The FAQ's also state:

You will receive a $200 VZW Trade-in Gift Card when you trade in your old iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, or iPhone 5c, and purchase a new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus with a new Verizon Edge agreement, 2 year contract, or when you pay full retail price.

Which is why it's confusing :( If I'm purchasing from Apple and still signing a 2-year contract with Verizon, how won't it work? Darn Verizon

So this is my question(s). I'm assuming they're doing away with the new every 2 program where you get a discount on a upgrade at the end of your contract in lieu of this buy back *****?

Meaning if I didn't trade in my old iPhone 5 for $200 and I wanted to buy the 66GB 6 I would have to pay $300? my only concern is that since I don't buy the protection plan that I should just hold on to my iPhone 5 in case I drop or break the new one.

Can anyone confirm that I would be able to re-activate my old 5?

"New Every Two" (NE2) has been gone for a WHILE now.... is this a serious question? (that is). I want to say it's been gone for more than 2 years so I'm not sure how you would be on one.

Either way, I'll assume it's a legit question. I don't even remember what NE2 was but the way it works now is that you have the OPTION to do the buyback plan (called EDGE) or just a standard 2 year contract where they give you subsidized pricing (Read: They pay ~$450 of your phone cost).

Umm - that is not correct.

Either of the 3 options will work for the $200 gift card.

That isn't what I was told. Regardless, I won't be doing it.

The wording on the trade in does seem you need to buy it from Verizon.

Anyway, I submitted a request for an iPhone 5 trade in yesterday, my quote was $250. Today the quote is $200 which is a shame for other 5 users.

I preordered the iPhone 6 plus through Apple and still submitted the trade in through VZW for my iPhone 4, valued at $200. All it asked was if I ordered the iPhone 6/6 Plus, which I did. Either way, it'll be worth a shot. If not, oh well!
