I understand Verizon does free overnight, but what about Apple? AFAIK only ground shipping is free, will that still guarantee launch day delivery? Or do we need to select 2day shipping/overnight?
I am not eligible for an upgrade until Aug 2013. Would it cost less to cancel my line, pay termination fee and pre order new iPhone 5.

Most Apple preorders will arrive on launch day. The partner closely with FedEx to ensure delivery.
Will Apple ship a Verizon iPhone to an address other than the billing address?

If I am current AT&T (4s) and want to switch to Verizon (iPhone 5) I assume I just pre-order through Verizon or Apple and setup a NEW account with any phone number.
Wait for phone to arrive, activate and then, once the dust settles, call or maybe email Verizon to transfer my old number over.
That correct approach? (I'm so sick of AT&T variable coverage around here and complete lack of LTE...Their BS facetime position was the final straw)

Does the name on the credit/debit card have to be the same name on the account? My son will be pre ordering through Verizon using his debit card and my names on the account. Last year we pre ordered through apple using my wife's debit card, and her names not on the account but I don't know if its different through Verizon.
He will be fine, last year I ordered through Verizon with my credit card and got it shipped to my college address and my parents names/addresses are on the account.

From what I have heard, gathered, and experienced is that with ordering through Apple your shipping address just has to match your billing address of your account. Your credit card can be different as far as I know of.

Loved it. I had preordered and already gone back to bed and the Apple website still hadn't even stopped crashing. I am probably going to do it again. The only downside is that the tracking SUCKS with Verizon, lots of people freaked out because they thought they wouldn't get their phones on launch but they all did. I am doing it through Verizon again because I have an extra $30 off I am hoping they will apply towards the iPhone 5.
The only downside is with Apple you get a tracking number straight from the factory so you can watch your phone come to you, with Verizon they get a bulk shipment from Apple and they keep it in warehouses till like a day or two before it releases so you don't get a tracking number till a few days before it comes. Which freaks out a lot of people especially since all the people who ordered from Apple know exactly where their phone is.

Alright awesome, I'll mention that, I'm sure my son won't mind about the tracking as long as he gets it release day.
If its anything like last year the Verizon website says shipping on the release date but what it really means is it will arrive on the release day. Try to just get him to relax and not stress about it. If thats possible 😛

Takes like two seconds online to change it. Or you could just order through Verizon.
Are you EST? I'm planning on waking up tomorrow to preorder online with verizonwireless.com. Was that how it went last year? I'm hoping it's a quick transaction going through the Verizon website instead of apple

For a full price, off-contract phone, would it be better to buy from Verizon or from Apple directly? Which is better in terms of service (defective/replacements, and warranty stuff). I've always bought from Verizon directly in the past, but I'm planning to keep this phone for a while.
If I buy from Verizon, can I walk into the Apple store if something is wrong with it, or if it breaks (and get a replacement for $150)? Or will they say "sorry, you didn't buy it from here." Does Verizon still do the $50 refurbed replacement after the 1 year warranty is up?

will verizon do preorders?? one of my lines is eligible not my main line could i transfer the upgrade to my line?? if so will i still be grandfathered in the data plan
