Data consumption for Voice over LTE? Yeah, I doubt Verizon is going to invest millions of dollars only for consumers to opt out of it because they dont want to pay for data.
who knows...they might.

Simultaneous voice and data.
Verizon in 2014 where AT&T\T-Mobile were in 1992. LOL
Really? I recall back in '08 I couldn't get simultaneous voice and data on AT&T when on EDGE. That came about as a result of 3G deployment.
Unless that was a limitation of the iPhone?
Who was on EDGE in 2008? 3G has been around since 2005 in most cities on AT&T... I'm assuming you meant because you had an iPhone, and Apple decided not to roll out a 3G version until 2008?
Either way, so we're saying ATT has been ahead in this aspect for 8-10 years? Like I said, VZW way behind.
There were areas here in MA within 30 miles of Boston that only had EDGE until 2 years ago. There are still areas where T-Mobile only has EDGE.
I for one am tired of crappy sounding calls. I call from Skype on my phone to talk to people as call quality on verizon sucks. Night and day, it's like the difference between trying to have a conversation at a dance club vs your lonely living room. I don't care about data and voice at the same time, I didn't utilize that feature when I had At&t.
Well yes, but that's not where 90+ percent of the population in America lives\works.
Boston is a major market, and the areas in question aren't that far away, so the statement about no one Using EDGE since 2008 is not accurate.
30 miles outside of Boston is a field. Nobody living 30 miles outside of Boston is a "Bostonian" ... heck even Los Angeles, a huuuuge city geographically, you wouldn't say 30 miles out is "the city" ...
In 2008 most Americans had 3G
