Boom there is it. The usual responce that Says nothing. Politician would be proud.

Look mate, you want to raise an issue/debates with me, cool, but don't go running and hiding when i reply. These responses of yours are getting a little predictable and meaningless.
If you don't want to read the thread (or want to read it selectively) then me repeating things isn't going to change anything. It's that simple, mate.

And talk about predictability and meaningless responses...coming from someone that simply said "Size , population etc make no differnce". "Boom there it is" indeed.

Probably it's also something about that the cost of covering such a huge landmass as the US is quite expensive.

But still my plan with 12 GB, 12 Hours speak and 4G LTE costs the same as a meal at McDonalds

Yuck, McDonalds. :eek:

You might be right about size of country.

It must be the way europeans is raised but I would be very very carefull with other peoples money. you only have 24 hours a day so for me having to think about things like healthcare products like americans would....I would leave that to my doctor. same thing with everything else.
difference between europe and us is that in europe we tend to trust government....for good and for bad....but compared to the US its for the good.

Interesting to hear from opposite perspective. Trusting government too much has lead to much tyranny in the world. Certainly there is a balance as with everything, but human nature causes too many with power to grasp for more. That's why US Constitution is so focused on balance of powers and checks and balances - and why there is a 2nd Amendment in our Bill of Rights.

Do you have a link to any of these howardforums threads? I haven't seen anything about it. In addition, I just made the switch from the old 18GB to the new 16GB and my discount transferred fine, called to verify. Still, just want to make sure.

http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...rs-Rollover-Data-and-Unlimited-Throttled-Data

The thread has a lot of activity, so try to find the first post from today (when you could actually add the new plans to your account) and start reading from there. I think Verizon's system is just being glitchy in the way it is displaying some corporate discounts vs. others. Several people have reported no issues, but I don't see the discount if I use Verizon's website on my computer (several others mentioned the same thing). If I use their My Verizon app on my iPhone, I *do* see the discount being applied however. YMMV

I switched from unlimited to 2gb last winter, since I was no longer using more an one gb/month. For no apparent reason, they doubled my data plan a couple months later with a "bonus 2gb". So now I'm paying $30/mo for 4gb (with 2gb rollover).

Many others have also reported their AT&T plans were doubled, such as a 3gb plan upgraded to 6gb. I don't know what their criteria are - maybe they doubled mine since I never even use 2gb, so it isn't costing them anything. ;)

Anyway, I'm getting 4gb for $30 from AT&T and it would cost $50 on Verizon now...

They bumped me from 4 GB to 6 GB at no additional charge about a year ago. I'm a bit worried that if I called and asked for lower rates, they wouldn't bother since I still have 4 months to go until my phones are paid off. I figure I'll call when we're getting closer to my phones being paid off.

To the best of my knowledge, (almost positive), the discounts are unaffected. What people are losing are their bonus data from previous plans and in one case, a person had some Century Link bundle that gave them a problem.. I've never used any bonus data or bundle type of things that so non issue for me.
Talked with a rep and made the change. In going from 18GB to 16GB I am closer to what I actually use, pay $10 less, and have the rollover which should result in having about 20GB available on average anyway. I definitely plan to turn on Auto Safety mode and never deal with an overage.

And you could get a signal!

When was the last time you actually tried other networks? My understanding is that the current ranking for US nationwide carriers is AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, with the top three all being pretty close together and trading places if you pick a specific locale.

Given you replied to my comment.......i think you have this backwards... thanks for the laugh....

I'm trying to understand why everyone's upset about the new plans. They do cost $10 more per month, but they also give you more data to offset the difference, plus rollover data is not bad at all. Also, with the increase in data, couldn't you theoretically drop down to a lower price plan, since the data amount was increased?

People love to complain. Many of the plans are only $5 more/month. And yes, some people could even drop down a plan. Verizon could have cut rates across the board and someone would complain - that you can be sure of!

Wow, VZW is horrible. I was recently in Denmark where text and slow data are already included with my TMO plan and got a text from TMO that said something along the lines of "Happy summer, enjoy unlimited LTE instead." I've never been a huge fan of any company, but TMO continually impresses me.

Exactly what I did. Verizon even suggested it via their website. lol. Looking forward to rollover and unlimited 3g when over my limit (which we rarely hit 50%).

Quite frankly, the same phenomenon could be observed for a while in some rural places in the US. I live in Silicon Valley and even now it's not a surprise for me to go someplace that's mostly rural and find faster wireless and broadband when 20 years ago some of those places barely had telephone service.

And why don't we have google Gigabit fiber all over the SF Bay Area!!!!

Folks really need to stop comparing their country the size of one of the US states service provider plans to the US plans. If you compared cell phone service of other big countries the US is actually not that bad at all. If the US was the size of just one state, then we would also have unlimited data plus a cow for $20/month.

What type of cow?

On a more serious side I agree. I am constantly amazed that I can get 3G or 4G speeds in some place like Death Valley. Population you and 10,000 mule skeletons.

Most of you are just crybabies and don't understand the plans. You get more data for what you are paying for, and some people will be saving money. I saved almost $100 a month! Get over it.

I thought it was unlimited 2g? I did see your screenshot though and I am now confused. Lol. Can you clear this up for me?

Another way to look is new plans are $10 cheaper, how?

Old Plans New Plans Difference
S: 1GB for $30/month ----> Plan not available
M: 3GB for $45/month --> S: 2GB for $35/month --> $10 cheaper (for 1GB less)
L: 6GB for $60/month --> M: 4GB for $50/month --> $10 cheaper (for 2GB less)
XL: 12GB for $80/month --> L: 8GB for $70/month --> $10 cheaper (for 4GB less)
XXL: 18GB for $100/month --> XL: 16GB for $90/month --> $10 cheaper (for 2GB less)
XXL: 24GB for $110/month --> New plan altogether

I though the US was leading in free market competition like this. Here in Denmark i have this plan:
Unlimited talk, sms, mms, data - 119DKK/month which is approx 18$/month -- https://plenti.dk/home
And you can choose to include entertainment for like 13$ extra, then you get free access to Tivoli, newspapers, e-books, audiobooks, magazines and much more
Oh and internet is 100mbit fiber for 100DKK/month which is approx 15$/month

Everything I've read here on Macrumors has people saying 2G. Verizon is clearly telling me 3G. I'm going to believe Verizon because they are liable for what they put down in writing.

I tried doing this, and it doesn't say if it is extended (roaming) or what?
Looks like they changed their map legend to hide their crappy coverage.
Basically anything listed as Talk, Text & Non-LTE Data is 2G/3G or partner coverage (roaming).

Saying verizon is a joke because they over charge people for their services & gimmicks, i had them as a home cable/internet provider. Outrages bills & fees which were never properly explained when i called along with other things i wont get into, its not that important . You must have verizon

Apple does the same thing, I'll bet you don't think they are a joke.

Quite a bit of the time people don't even bother reading the article that is involved let alone actually understand the details before commenting--many just want to have some witty (or what they think is witty) reactionary rhetoric put up as quickly as they can just to get it out there, basically just because.

...I guess, though the two are completely unrelated? At least Apple doesn't advertise "NEW! Secure RAM feature! For just a few dollars more, your RAM is now soldered!"

So if Verizon didn't advertise it you would be OK with it?
