My original email from Verizon said it will ship by 9/24. If I check using the preorder site, it says shipping by 9/30. If you try to order on as a new customer, it shows an 11/04 ship date. This is for a gold 64gb.

same thing happened to me and my 64GB gold. no charge and no progress with tracking. looks like i missed the first wave.
 
I ordered a 32gb space gray at about the same time. My ship by date in the verification email was 9/24, when I click the link it's the same as you, 10/7. But my card was charged this morning, so I assume it will be shipped soon.

U may be,right. On my Verizon. I actually see a real paper receipt under orders the past 30 days. And the space gray order has the actual receipt and the other two hold do not see the receipt.
 
If you guys go to "view order status" under your actual verizon account (not the check order status link in the confirmation email) does it say "Order is still PROCESSING" for those of you that had your card charged?

I'm showing a "Location Code" now, which is W779001. Google research suggests that's in California, which would be reassuring (and mean I don't have to wait for the phone to come from China).

Yep, charge is still pending on my AmEx, but that's what it says for me too.

Yes it does for me. When I view documents in My Verizon I also see receipts for the phone and it indicates FedEx 2-Day shipping.

That's what mine says, and the receipt says 2-day shipping.

When I click "check your order status" in the confirmation email, it shows "in processing" with a 9/24 ship date. However, when I view "my documents and receipts" nothing shows up...no receipt or other docs.
 
Just spoke with verizon,looking for a tracking number. She told me packages will be picked up today. Tracking numbers should go out later today and we should have by Wednesday.

Cool. In other news, I just called my local Apple Store (downtown Chicago) and they have "plenty" of space grey 5S phones in stock. Kinda wish I just did the b&m instead of online, but a few days won't kill me.
 
hey guys, my status changed. It showed "Status: 09/24/2013 Your order will ship by 09/24/2013". Yeah!
 
my card still hasn't been charged yet and is still showing the same thing, "we received your order and its being process. expected ship date 9/24/13" and my order was complete on 9/20 at 3:02 am EST :confused:

That's pretty much everyone's status right now. No one has reported any changes/shipping notices, etc.
 
Cool, I checked the receipt in my account and it says the phone is shipping via FedEx 2 day. The location code is associated with a state that neighbors mine (I'm on the east coast) so I'm guessing they have quite a few different distribution centers and will ship to you from whichever one is closest to you. This means you should receive the phone very quickly after shipment (1 to 2 days).
 
32GB Gold and got my confirmation email at 3:02am EST. The purchase is still under "pending charge" though :( 9/24 is still my date but I'm hoping they charge me soon and nothing goes wrong!

Exactly where is this on the the web page? The verizon account page is so poorly designed that you can not find half the stuff you are looking for.

After you log into verizonwireless, click on the "my verizon" link toward the top of the page. Now on the left side of the page toward the top, you should see a blue box that says "I want to...". Click on the + sign in the box and it will open up a giant menu. The order status and order history links are under "shop" and "bill".

Also, a little trick for you guys that might get you your phone a day earlier:

If your phone is shipping via FedEx, call (1.800.Go.FedEx). When the automated voice asks you what you're calling about, say "hold at fedex location". You will then be asked to enter your tracking number and then your address. If there is a fedex location near you, you will be given the option to drive to the location and pick up the package yourself (they will have it at the front desk for you). This is great for 2 reasons. First, you can usually pick the package up first thing in the morning (9:00am usually) so you don't have to wait around to sign for it all day. Second, the packages usually arrive a day or two before they ship them out on the trucks (most express packages ship the exact same way regardless of what shipping method you choose. Fedex just lists them as "not due for delivery" if you only paid for express saver for example).

I ordered mine around 8:00 am EST on Friday morning but never recieved a confirmation email. What's the deal?
