This is kinda crap is the reason I dropped Verizon. They always pull something like this. If T-Mobile had better coverage I would be with them, but I need good coverage so Im with ATT. ATT can have its issues, but they seem a lot more trustworthy than Verizon. Verizon is the Comcast of carriers.

In NYC at least, AT&T doesn't have nearly the coverage nor the spectrum as Verzion. Not long ago I was on about the 30th floor with my iPhone and I got good signal and download speeds. The person next to me, also with an iPhone but on AT&T, no signal at all.

It is best to put limits on streaming because otherwise there is not enough download for the rest of us that don't watch streaming video all the time, but have work to do.

No one is forcing you to stay with Verizon, you could jump ship to T-Mobile like I did and let the free market work out Verizon’s pricing or you can keep paying them gobs of money to reward their terrible business practices.

Huh? So I guess we're just going to ignore the fact that T-Mobile only exists right now because of government intervention (i.e., the Obama Administration preventing AT&T from purchasing T-Mobile and limiting your choices even further).

It's really irresponsible to put out patently false information like that. I understand this is just a forum, and that anyone can simply Google how incorrect you are, or just open an Econ 101 textbook glossary to the chapter on monopolies/oligopoly's, but your comment is still really irresponsible. I'm not sure if you're trolling or what, but some people might actually take your statement as sincere and believe it.

It is best that Verizon throttles data for cases of congestion because otherwise this affects others who are trying to use the network. I have the Verizon Beyond, but I don't have a problem with the 22 GB streaming limit if there is a problem with network capacity.

I'm surprised someone hasn't figured out how to stream 2 720p streams and combine them to make 1080p. Same thing with 4k.

Where's the laugh button when you need one.

The problem with that is that there really aren't any other companies to switch too. Basically they all charge the same amount.

No free market system is perfect and I don’t know anyone claiming it.

If you’re reaching for the laugh button, the suggestion that increased government intrusion is the required panacea has me reaching for the ROFL button.

I don't have a problem with the 22 GB streaming limit if there is a problem with network capacity.

I think you misunderstand your coercive relationship with Verizon.

I believe those "problem with network capacity" claims as readily as I'd believe a mobster telling me "there's been a problem with Arson in the neighborhood, so you better pay our protection fee." When there's 0 accountability or regulation on a monopoly they can tell you they're raising your prices for any reason they want--regardless of the full context of the truth.

And pay basically the same price for the same coverage?

As s consumer we really don't have any choices cost wise without giving up coverage and/or speeds.

Perhaps there is a correlation between price and coverage / speeds.

It sounds like the way the market works for everything else you buy.

If you don't like Verizon overcharging you, then you'll do more good by voting in November than you'll ever do by switching to AT&T or T-Mobile.

That didn't really pan out this last November. I'd have rather switched than gotten what we got.

Can someone please sit this confused person down and explain to him how Oligopolies/regional monopolies work?

Here's a good starting off point: Please look up how national oligopolies/regional monopolies, work very hard to segment and distribute the market between themselves using tricks as varied as skyrocketing the cost of building new infrastructure, to limiting hardware retail options, etc., so rather than competing on equal footing in all markets they can ensure at least one of them as an effective monopoly in most markets.

Before you spout off this silly Trumper nonsense, I suggest you enroll in a quick Econ 101 course. I can help you set up the ability to crowdfund the cost! Trust me, if every person who defends Cell Company monopolies paid for an Econ course, we'd all save more money in the long run from our phone bills alone.

So now they're back to $95. lol. So glad I switch to t-mobile. Love $70 for everything.

o glad I switch to t-mobile. Love $70 for everything.

Enjoy it while it lasts... T-mobile only exists right now because the Obama administration blocked attempts to purchase it, first by AT&T and then by Sprint. Now we have a Republican President, so expect t-mobile to disappear and your cell plan to DRASTICALLY rise in price within a few years.

Jesus Christ, the best country in the world has the worst internet providers. EXPENSIVE AS *** and the unlimited plan is well...restricted. Good job America!

Verizon just made my day...I was paying $150/mo for two lines for UNL 4k data + $13/mo for each iPhone 7 Plus. Now I am paying $65.60/mo for 20GB of data. I rarely go over 13-15GB per month. While my home internet is roughly 300-350GB per month. My bill should be under $130 before taxes now. Thank you VZ!

You can pay for a smaller battery. Tesla may or may not deliver you a car with a smaller battery - depends what they have available. If they only have larger batteries available, they'll give you the larger battery, but software limit it to the size you paid for, and give you the option of paying to use it all later. Paying to get the larger battery after the fact is a one time fee.

I don't know why it would irritate you. You paid for something and you received it. It may have cost Tesla more than otherwise (because their supply of smaller batteries was depleted, so they had to give you a larger battery), but they hope to recoup that loss by having you pay to upgrade later. Alternatively, maybe you'll sell the car to someone else, and that next owner will pay Tesla for the full battery (because remember: you never paid for that battery. It doesn't belong to you - it belongs to Tesla and is Tesla's to sell). Or maybe you'll sell the car back to Tesla, and they'll resell it as a car with a larger battery.
They software limit their batteries? What the...

So the unlimited plan wasn't unlimited, but now you can purchase an unlimited Unlimited plan?

They should just be called limited plans. Because lemme guess I can't watch 4k 60fps hdr 10 on my 4 inch screen on Verizon

Seems foolish. Verizon's bandwidth is great, but not unlimited. Since they do not have an unlimited product, they should not sell an unlimited plan.

Yes but still not actually unlimited- just higher resolution video... more like unlimited, unlimited*. I wonder if 3 unlimiteds will do the trick or if we next get into strong adjectives like ultimate unlimited* or bronze/silver/gold/platinum unlimited*.

I joke... or do I?;)

Well, size of the country, population density, and other factors of that nature do play a role in all of it.

As far as "unlimited", it's been pretty much a standard thing for quite a while when it comes to mobile carriers (at least in US) that unlimited refers to basically not having to worry about paying for some sort of overages when going over some sort of a data limit that the limited plans had/have. It doesn't really have much to do with bandwidth, speed, etc.

You’re confused. TM will buy sprint (thanks to trump) and create a bigger network. legere will continue to run things and keep the customers happy which he has done very well for years now.
