Your assumptions are... well... wrong. I am a long time Apple customer.*I did what I've done before, trust that Apple had built a good iPhone 4. This time they screwed up, and I'm _not_ talking about scratches. I'm talking about the same thing others are. How poor the phone is.*

Sorry to hear of your anger management issues.*

That poster was out of line blowing his top like that, but I still think it's nothing short of hilarious that you are saying Apple "blew it with the phone" because it gets scratches on it when you rub dust and grit into it repeatedly using a rubber case. I guess your other mobile devices must be made of diamond or perhaps Wolverine's endoskeleton material.

And yet you still have your iPhone 4. If you are so unsatisfied with it, just return the damn thing for a full refund already...you can't though can you?

You still have to have the iPhone 4, even though "Apple screwed up" and "how poor the phone is"...complaining like a little spoiled brat.

The reason you ppl complain and whine is simple.
You still absolutely love the iPhone 4 and can't fathom living without it.
That is why you cry cry cry, hoping that everything will be magically fixed for your precious little device.

Sad.

Just because you are crazy and think that Apple is out to get you personally, it doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. ;)

They are out to get you. It IS a conspiracy.

The world has come together and decided that you are the target for all things bad for the next year. Also, they elected me to be their spokesperson....

my bumper has done the exact same thing. It looks like it has worn the stainless steel down. It's like a abrasive blob.

You need to calm down and apologise. Why does any manufacturing defect has to be obviously life-threatening to be treated seriously? The point is that you get a badly designed, defective product and the manufacturer claims that one issue is fixed if you use their expensive bumper 9which, by the way is a pathetic argument). Then it turns out that the bumper damages the finish on the phone. You can deny it as Jobs does, but this is a ridiculous mess and Apple Inc deserves all the outrage.

are you claiming that rubber/plastic 'scratched' steel?

LOL.. ok then.. it's probably actually the stainless steel scratching material off of your bumber and getting stuck to it..

Ok guys. OP has not got around to uploading pics.

Let me just quickly take some and I will have them uploaded ASAP!

Edit: These marks are impossible to capture on a stills camera. Even tried with my D500 with a decent telephoto lens. So i've gone one better, I've filmed it for you :D

Uploading it nao.

Big deal.. I will find my camera and post them.

Just to clarify I'm not really pent up about this. I actually noticed it a few days ago maybe even a week!

I'm only doing this to stop people rubbishing a credible claim without seeing it for themselves. Just because you've not seen something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I'm on your side here OP.

I have already made my video, it's just exporting from iMovie now.

Oh no I know I just mean the other people..
It's not like I'd make it up just for the hell of it. I love my iPhone

hmmmmm I honestly don't think it looks that bad.
Seems like an invisishield or similar product may protect the sides of the phone,

it is indeed plastic on the inside of the case. i took the case off and looked at where the bumper scratched the phone, and then looked at that part of the bumper. there's a tiny extra piece of plastic that isn't meant to be there. that's the only extra piece i've found, but i'm pretty sure it is the plastic on the inside of the bumper.

For what its worth I have no scratches and I have had the bumper for over a week now. Also I am in the middle of a round the world trip and have not been babying the phone at all. It is very dry where I'm staying and lots of dust and dirt all over so I'm sure theres been plenty between the phone and bumper. I do take the bumper off every few days and wipe down the phone and bumper with my shirt/cloth.

Yeah see I have a spot like the ones in the video RIGHT on the sleep button. THAT annoys me. The ones by the dock not so much but it is excessive
