Hi there.

I just wanted to be the first to thank arn and the MR team for all the hard work that must have gone into [the] live updates.

Good call! I thanked arn and the team on IRC, but I would like to take the opportunity to thank the team again. Well done! It was especially nice to note that a couple of journalists picked up on your excellent coverage.

Congrats!!!!

Extremely impressed with the professional informational product produced by the MR team before, during and after the keynote speech. Not an easy task to plan and accomplish!!! It was a thrill for us who could not be there in person.:)

Another strong congratulations!

A few friends of mine and I were huddled around a PowerBook watching the text come in every 60 seconds for the last 45 minutes of the keynote. It worked flawlessly.

Right after the "One more thing..." showed up a friend of mine managed to hit someone under the chin. It was that exciting (at least for him).

i would also like to express my agreement. that our! guys (the macrumors team) did a good job.

but.

i have one thing to add. some might see it as a criticism. it might be because, it was more fun listening and watching steve on stage, than writing, editing and then transmitting the information to all of us.

i found the live feed (albeit slow and manual refresh was needed) from engadget.com more "livelier". reading the information in macrumorslive.com was clear and straightforward.

but.

the engadget team made me feel closer to the action (quotes from steve, pictures etc.). i guess there was a price to pay for being "closer to the action", though. slow page refresh (i think it even crashed at one time).

I turned off their feed 20 minutes into the keynote. Their site was just way too slow. The pictures were a nice touch, but a tad too big and the comments at the bottom of the page was utterly annoying.

Worldofapple had a really clean layout, but they suffered from 'underload' of information. Way too sparse to have me continue reading from them, so I switched over exclusively to mrl.

I'd like to see thumbnail pictures in the next mrl feed and maybe some off-beat humorous side commentary, as well. But then I got all of that in the forums. :D The best non-streaming live keynote by far.

Here's to the Crazy Ones

Yep.. unfortunately, our feed was a bit spotty, so we didn't have time to embelish the content. I would have prefered more detailed updates, but it couldn't happen with the quality of our feed. Next time, hopefully it will be more solid.

That being said, I think adding pictures would be the next step... but doing well would require some more planning. Linking to a photo can be a very intensive thing with so many people watching.

I'm sure engadget had a large viewing audience, and I'm not sure what their hardware setup was... but our audience was very large. we'll run down the stats soon.

Can I be one of the first to say that I'd rather have frequent text updates of what's going on than risk the feed falling over to show a few pictures that I'll be able to see better, clearer versions of within hours...

Agreed! Having said that, some amusing comments would be fun, but again, not to the detriment of reliable information.

As many others have said already, this was the best coverage I have seen - It was absolutely perfect! Well, except for my girlfriend making fun of me for being so excited about the keynote while I sat there at the computer (we both had the day off) - But that wasn't MR's fault! :D

Yes, I second that.

I will third that. This is one of the best, most consistant mac info sites on the web. And I am glad to be one of the members of this macrumors community! (Going on 4 years this summer)!

I was able to read it on the sly @ work. It really made my day. Text updates w/o photos were perfect. Just what I need @ my job as there is not a Mac in sight.

thanks for giving your input on my comment, arn.

like i said, it is not being critical on my part. i am a follower of the church of jobs. and i am just really excited, when a special event like this happens.

My thanks is buried in another thread, so I'll re-iterate here: wonderful, fantastic, amazing job. Best. Keynote. Coverage. Experience. Ever. Plus the description of the technology and what was happening was a great read, too (especially during the iLife presentation).

I think that MR's coverage was better than Engaget's, too. Even though they had photos, their servers were completely overwhelmed, you had to manually reload, and at one point it cut off entirely.

Yes, many thanks to MR and alll it's members! By far the best Mac community online. :)

Definately the smoothest of all Keynote coverages i've seen; Thank-you Arn and all those who helped feed our ever growing need for more Apple. :D

Brilliant Job, well very well!

Hi There,

I wanted to say you did a first class job, of making me feel I was there at the Show. Your use of word in real time was spot on, I was viewing about 3 website at one time and your came up tops with just great informed discription of what was going on. Brilliant!!!

Brilliant, did I say that!

Keeping up the great work.

Paul
