Aimed at a specific market, I think the watch looks appropriate for a formal environment. The price is small compared to the work involved. Just cones down to individual taste, affordability, need and sense of value. I like it.

Buyer: "Hey Genius my Apple watch bricked when I updated the OS on it. Its only a week old.
Apple Genius: "Hmm sorry we cant fix that. You have to ship it in for exchange"
Buyer: " But, but............."

Beautiful watch and a much better value than the gold watches that Apple was selling before.

Although, still terribly impractical as it's not going to hold its value.

But then again, these watches are for people who are well enough off that they can spend $2k without a second thought.

The real question is when will the drop videos be coming out for this? We need to know that it could survive a drop from orbit before we can even consider buying one.

Agreed. My gold coloured stainless with cellular and apple care in Canada seems like it cost almost that much anyway. Seems like a deal if you’re into that. Not my style, but can appreciate the craftsmanship.

Excuse me: $2,200 for 40h of work + gold + watch is no 'high price tag' at all.

I can’t imagine paying this much for a tech watch that will ultimately be in a scrap pile in a few years from now, it almost makes me think of the 18K Edition gold Apple Watch that launched in 2015, priced at $10,000-$17,000, and is absolutely worth hardly anything today, and it’s not even supported anymore through WatchOS anymore.

Now if this was some vintage mechanical watch someone was interested in, I could see the appeal, but not for a smart watch.

Crazy.... 40 hours to do one ?

I would have thought it wound be automated.. Machines have more accuracy than humans... Particularly if the employee has the shakes.

At this price alone, you would be taking care of it more. over something that you'd only pay $399 for now

Looking over their site, these guys make some really damn nice alligator leather straps for Apple watch. $300 though.

$2,200 doesn't seem that crazy to me - victim of bay area pricing, I suppose.

Nice work. I like seeing something with some artistry, not just "glue a bunch of cz on it" or "apply some gold plating".

Would look swanktastic in stainless, IMO.

It's all a matter of perspective. Some people need to finance a XR.
It's not really a matter of perspective if you compare it to other luxury watches. I'm not an expert in that, but I'd expect the pricing is similar for similar work, so you can say you aren't being had if you pay for this.

The fact it has a very short lifespan just gives these super expensive apple watches a touch of decadence...

I'd sue somebody if they did that to my Watch! THAT is nasty. o_O
To those who say, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I say, "Get your eyes checked".

I just looked at it again...I mean...? The digital crown...? What the...? Halloween is over.
