Would you ever shell out so much extra cash for a custom Apple Watch? Let us know in the comments

Why write a long article about a product that not a single MacRumors reader will be able and willing to buy? To generate mockery and envy? This falls back here to the article writer. A man who would be better employed at THE SUN with too much time for third class information.
Maybe it was a paid advertisement ;)

I dunno, if you ask me this fits the concept of the Watch perfectly.

I guess I'm too traditional for this. I can't see spending that much on a piece of technology that will be outdated in a year or so. My Swiss watch will last me a lifetime. I also wonder what the extra drain on the connected iPhone is.

It's all a matter of perspective. Some people need to finance a XR.

Although I agree it’s all a matter of perspective with things like this however I think what poster was implying is the value of time + product it’s actually being sold at a sensible price.

Website looked modern and interesting to start with until I noticed the contact was a cell phone and the contact page map was broken.
Yeah, I'll send my money to Russia, no problem.

Doesn't seem too far out of line if it takes 40 hours of skilled labor plus the gold, you can spend $1,500 for the Hermès version.

Apple Watch cannot be a luxurious watch and men's accessory that can be kept for many years and left as a heirloom later. It is an electronic "device" that gets old real fast. You can't use it and keep it like a Patek Philippe, Maurice Lacroix or Rolex etc. I really wonder what happened to those 10k $ gold Apple Watch series 0.. For me, even stainless steel model is extravagance because at max I'll use it for 2 years.

That Aurum website looks like some sort of unfinished scam. Even when switched (from default Russian) to English. No real company registration information, no terms, no privacy policy (the usual red flags), GoogleMaps in dev-mode, SEO test texts all over the place. I know they apparently actually sell the modifications, but still...

And quoting the MacRumors guy in the video "I expected custom watch faces"... I thought you guys knew enough about watchOS to know that that's not possible for 3rd parties...

I guess everyone has their thing but that'd be a huge waste of money to me. Not that I would ever pay money for something like that so it doesn't really matter.
