Another video has emerged online showing probable mockups of iPhone 7 units, but this time viewers are given a better idea of what the new handset might look like in three colors that Apple may offer this September.

The video was posted to YouTube channel ConceptsiPhone yesterday and shows the iPhone 7 in Rose Gold, Gold, and what the titling calls "Space Black".

The mockups depict the now familiar design expectations such as protruding camera, repositioned antenna bands, and no headphone jack, but it's the "Space Black" reference that stands out as a curiosity this time around.

Rumors in June pointed to the possibility that Apple was readying a darker variant of its traditional Space Grey color, described by one source as "close to black, though not quite black". This so-called "new, darker shade" was thought to more closely resemble the look of the "space black" stainless steel Apple Watch, which is darker than the "space gray" aluminum Apple Watch Sport.

However, earlier this month, alleged photographs of Apple's proposed iPhone 7 colorways stuck to showing the company's typical four variants of Rose Gold, Space Gray, Gold, and Silver, similar to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

The "Space Black" variant depicted in the latest video does look darker than a typical iPhone 6s Space Grey unit, but the poor lighting makes identification a guessing game, and it could be just as likely that the unusual naming convention is simply a botched amalgam of previous rumors.

On the other hand, Apple has used different shades of "space gray" and "black and slate" across its device lineups over the years. The iPhone 6s and iPad Pro, for example, each have a lighter shade of "space gray" compared to the iPhone 5s and original iPad Air respectively.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to be officially unveiled by Apple in the fall. In addition to the aforementioned features, the smartphones are expected to have faster Apple A10 processors, 32GB of base storage, improved waterproofing, and faster LTE and Wi-Fi.

Well, if all the recent images are real\close to the real thing, at least I'll be saving a ton of cash this year when I don't upgrade.

Man, I hate to say it, but since Steve is gone, Apple is doing nothing to innovate, change, or excite. Been an avid Apple maniac since "1984", and I must say I'm getting more and more tempted to start looking elsewhere.

I wonder how Apple will sell these on stage. There seem to be a lot of little design refinements, and changes like removing the headphone jack clearly help build Apple's vision of the future, but... What are they going to tell us about? New camera + faster chip?

I know this is going to be a 6S-S type release, but even so, there seem to be less rumoured marketable-features than for a regular S release.

Is battery life going to be the new feature? With a more efficient processor, and a bigger battery, and maybe some other tweak or two, could we be looking at 25% longer battery life? Is that possible? Would that inspire folks to upgrade from their 5s and 6 iPhones?

Having a similar/almost identical case and removing the headphone jack just feels like soldering the RAM in the Mac Mini and keeping the same shell. It's not like the aesthetics of a beautiful new design dictated this choice.

I dunno, maybe I'm a little bitter.
Nope. That is the best way I heard it explained. Perfect! Apple isn't doing anything here to justify loosing the headphone port.

Top notch innovation there Apple! I wouldn't be surprised if this is the real thing, I remember before the iPhone 6 came out there was a lot of YouTube tech bloggers who had their hands on the shell casing already and by launch time, it was anti-climax.

They had no trouble selling the SE. They won't have trouble selling this phone.

Also... This is the 9th year in a row that Apple is selling iPhones and it's amazing that people still doubt that this is what it will look like.

The same thing happens every. single. year.

People get more and more delusional it seems.

Well during an S update aren't there usually a CPU update (which is happening here), a camera update (which is happening here) and only one other major feature that we often don't know about before the announcement or at least we don't know about in mid-Summer. When did we know about Touch ID for the 5S or did Force Touch for the 6s? So couldn't there still be a major feature left out?

I think we are getting the screen enhancements from the small iPad Pro. So there is that. And that along with CPU, camera, and battery life would be a pretty good upgrade over the 6S and frankly a huge upgrade over the 6. But maybe there is one other thing.
