because most people use actual computers to visit websites? not an iOS toy - only kids who do not manage large sites think you can drop flash.

the new reality of Apple... an "Untalented" at the top. I'm sure the iOS community wont mind, he is like them.

Seems like a cool guy. He chooses his words carefully and that's a very Jobsian trait.

Although he does say he doesn't want Apple to be the only company inventing things and, well, if they are the ones with the talent and vision.. Why the hell not?

Is there an app available that can automatically wake you during Tim Cook's interviews or keynotes?

While I completely agree with you on a human level with regards to Tim's stress and demands, I wouldn't feel too sorry for him... he has 378 million reasons per year plus stock options in the most highly valued company in the world to soothe his angst... not to mention the fact that he has plenty of time in his schedule to hike, mountain bike, and hit the gym twice a day. Sounds like a pretty nice job description considering what most people have to deal with.

Haha, that is true ... not sorry at all now!

Tim if you're reading this, I'll offer you my 40 hour working week to help answer your emails, just to help out! I only ask 1/1200th of your salary ...

People seem to forget Jobs picked Tim Cook. Of all the talented people Apple has (and they have plenty), Cook rose to the top. That has to say for something about Cook's talents.

Flash is on the way out
Millions of people using IOS to surf web daily
and it looks like you have garbage galaxy tablet.
How can you possibly use Mac computers and purchase a Galaxy Tablet

So they're not blind to all the sites that have flash and they don't want to turn off Java.

That would be my guess.
Why does it upset you when people don't buy what you buy?

God damn can Tim put you to sleep. Zzzzzz.....

Let Tim Cook run the company and put Ive in for all public appearances as a mouthpiece. Even Schiller.

Tim takes the excitement right out of the room.

I'm going to entertain this rubbish for a moment.

Exactly what technology, OS, or company is going to rise up and replace Apple where Apple dominates (iOS, tablets, smartphones, MP3 player).

Because that is what needs to happen for Apple to experience this so-called downfall.

Android? Android makes no money.
Windows Phone? No momentum at all.
Blackberry? One foot in the grave.

So unless some phantom menace comes from no where to knock Apple off its perch, your Nostradamus skills need work.

iPhone is outdated, small, and looks like 2yr old technology. I hate Adroid but the phones are better. I excluded the tablets and was not talking about MP3 Players. I was primarily talking about their Mac Lineup. It is outdated to say the least. The Mac Pro Lineup is a joke. The iMacs and Macbook Pros are behind the times in many technologies.

There are a lot of Android phones making no money btw. I still hate android.

Not a fan of windows but Windows 7 does compete with Mac OS at this point. If Apple starts blowing up their bank account even bigger by forcing proprietary systems down the throats of consumers, Mac OS will die a slow death. No one is going to pay $600 for a $80 memory upgrade, just to run OS X Mountain Lion.

If you're talking about iPhone, that's like saying Mercedes are outdated because Chevrolet makes electric cars. Truth is, no one does LTE exceptionally well, and Apple tries to steer clear of releasing products that aren't exceptional.

The iPhone, while it is the best functioning smartphone by far, is small and the screen size is small, but I was not talking about iPhone. More about their Mac lineup.

Yo dawg, pass me some of that stuff you're smoking!

Great Answer!

Can't watch a video on my iPad on Macrumors… this is weird. Should have gone for a Galaxy Tab then? :]

Tim is perfectly competent otherwise SJ would never have chosen him for the position. I couldn't help but notice all of the different ways that Cook was emulating Steve throughout the video, from the hand gestures to the choice of wording in answers. Apple won't change too much under Cook because it appears as though Cook has been studying Jobs as much as anything else.

When the people who SJ left in place start to leave is when there may be a decline seen at Apple. I'm hoping Apple doesn't become an uncreative monolith like Microsoft and GM became once creative leaders were replaced with risk averse managers who resist any form of change. Sony is currently a victim of a corporate culture that refuses to change a system more suited to the 1970s and 1980s, and RIM are a more recent example.

I did like how Tim described why they don't want to be the only artists in the industry, and the reasons he outlined for why other companies should spend more time creating and less time copying. That's the danger of a very risk averse and uncreative management team, they're more likely to copy or simply stay the course for fear of what might happen otherwise.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think I showed any interest in dating him. Move along, troll.

Cute. You joined this month and I joined in 2007 and I'm the troll.

My point, which seems to have escaped you, not having been expressed simply enough was that unless you're planning a personal relationship with him, it's of no freaking relevance to you if he's charismatic or not. He is hired to run a corporation. Not to give you warm fuzzies.

Still trolling, noob? My original account was registered in Nov 2004. Doesn't prove jack.

I said he is not as charismatic as Steve Jobs. I did not imply he is not an effective leader. He could be better than Steve Jobs. Don't jump to conclusions, kiddo.

I'll present the question more simply for your brain to digest. Apple in decline leaves a billion dollar plus vacuum.

What does your brain see filling that vacuum during Apple's downfall?

Well, at the least the interviewer lady had those great shoulder pads in her jacket, which she's probably had since the first Macintosh came out.

Whats is with these videos

Whats is with these videos - are they optimized for IE or something, i cant get them to work in anything. Seems totally lame for a gig that calls itself 'all things digital' and they cant get that really basic stuff sorted......
