Its A Fake!!!!!!!!

Its completly obvious that this is just the current version in a homade case

Exactly. I'd show the whole thing and with it powered on.
OH, and it probably does have those rubber things, if you didn't notice he picked it up a little, he wasn't sliding it.

I checked it again and again. I don't see him lifting the case a mm. And if so? How could he do this with "two fingers"? Probably the next mini is lighter, but not that light!

Maybe, he's god. After all, he did provide us with a picture and video of the new mini before it was released.

Bump MACmini iCrisis Edition

i'd really love to know to answer to the question:

"Why did you filmed it that way (and no other) ?"

I think this is a real machine, not photoshopped or video edited. The reason for the quality is probably due to the camera used, which may have been a mobile phone, considering the 'blueish' hue from a light at some stage, which has all the color from the build in LED lights in some phones with 'flash' bulbs.
I think this was done in secret, so hence no plugging in etc, although that would be sweet and more convincing, who knows that will be next, or we'll find out on TUESDAY.. :D :apple:

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but isn't it possible that the design is similar because Apple is going to update silently (a la the whiteBook a few weeks ago?), and so there wouldn't necessarily be a new casing?

It's not what I'd like to see (I love the black and aluminium look), but I also think that they may want to keep some similarity between the Mac hardware and things like Airport Extreme and the Time Capsule...

That makes little to no sense to me since the original poster admitted he "bought" it. That means he "owns" it and therefor keeps it at home. why should he be"filming the mac secretly" in his own house/room? i mean it's not cocaine he's filming

Sorry to say but I dont think the mac mini will be thinner. Have you looked at the internals? This thing is already packed and still cools pretty well. I will be pissed if they do an atom thing to it. My two cents look for it to come out it is more viable than anything else coming out of this forum about it.

Even if it is a mockup, all those people who said 'photoshop' about the image are wrong.
In fact, it was a physical item, and not computer generated lol

Ahhh yes. The 'this was photoshopped' crowd may have been wrong ... but consider:

It was probably that chorus of skepticism that compelled this guy to release the video.

If we keep saying 'fake' about the video... maybe he'll feel the pressure to prove us wrong again and release another video, this time with the thing turned on.

So yes... keep saying 'FAKE!!!"

I think it is a mod. It doesn't make any sense otherwise.

This is what you will see from Apple in the new Mini:

-Aluminum & black
-Unibody
-Mini Display Port (sorry, I don't think they will add dual display ports)
-MagSafe power adapter to work with LED Cinema Displays
-Super Drive can be replaced with second hard drive
-nVidia graphics and chipset

Here is my quick mockup of what it will look like. We will see soon, but I'm confident my predictions in specs and mockup will be very close

Who cares...

In my opinion, unless the real Mac Mini is nearly identical in shape/size to the new MacBook Air's Superdrive, which would clearly be a technological breakthrough for a full desktop system, then honestly, who cares?

It's only the Mac Mini, and not one of many new devices that Apple's been rumored to be working on.

Gimme gimme! Looks great.

ASSUMING that there is a real mini on the horizon, and that this is at least a 'prototype' of it, here's my guess:

As many people have pointed out, the person who let this out could be in big trouble with Apple. So the guy is shooting the thing in such a way to avoid - as much as possible - showing any 'identifying' features. Maybe if he showed the bottom, there's some kind of serial number on there that Apple could use to track it down.
Maybe if he picked it up, he would be concerned the video would end up showing more of his room than the generic wooden table, and someone could identify him that way.

I too agree the way he shot it raises questions, but at least that's my best theory (except for that it's fake) as to why he may have done it that way -

I'm sorry, this has got to be fake.

None of it is logical.

The iMac has 3 USB ports, the Macbook Pro has 2, why would they give the Mini 5. Only the Mac Pro has 5.

Why would they use an old, dead, and totally stupid Mini DVI port as well as MDP? Why not two MDP's? Why not 1 HDMI and 1 MDP? Why give the Mini dual display support anyway?

Why would they keep the same enclosure?

Why would they give it Firewire 800?

Put it on and prove me wrong...

Looks like something. I'd like to see the thing actually plugged in to a monitor for solid proof that it's not just a box.

Yeah; every other time that someone claims that he or she posses a new, yet unpublished mac they are showing it with monitor and closeups from Finder info.

Nice fake.
