Be nice now...

Those of you with iPhones, remember how good it felt when you received yours?
Those of you without, imagine being a kid on Christmas (or your winter solstice holiday of choice).
And those of you wanting your minute/fifteen back -- still trying to see your logic in taking the time even to post that.

. . .though redneck is prevalent in all states in America--the southern variant is just the most well known of the genus.

Being from Georgia, and having recently moved to the midwest, I cannot agree with this statement more. Damn that's funny.

While I am a little jealous.. I'm more happy for him. Getting new toys is so much fun!!

Now if only Monday afternoon would get here already. :p

They don't know how to activate it
They don't know that it's not really a new product
They don't know how to use a simple camcorder
OK, maybe not rednecks, but some annoying shut-ins in Wisconsin or somewhere no one has ever heard of?

And you don't know how to get your facts straight. He did in fact activate it with no problems. My camera screws the focus up all the time. If you have never heard of Indiana then you are a bigger retard than I could have imagined.

Heeyuck!

He may have picked it up in Evansville, but surely he is from Owensboro with that TWANG to his voice. I am happy for the guy, good for him, but the woman's voice sort of sounds like she just saw a DOUBLE RAINBOW!

My sentiments exactly - why make such a big freakin' deal about a phone going to another provider? In the UK when it went from O2 only to all major providers, people just accepted it for what it was and got on with their lives.

This news being on the front page is sad.

It didn't take almost 4 years.

Well said, I think it's very cool there is going to be a whole new batch of people with the same excitement I have each time I get my new iPhone. I never would make a video, but if somebody does it good for them.
It seems the Verizon people have been waiting almost 4yrs and I'm all for them having their day!
:apple::apple::apple:

I just don't understand all the negatives. The story is just about the final release of the product that has fueled rumors here literally for years now; an iPhone on the Verizon network. A whole new group of clearly excited customers (as many here were years ago) is not a bad thing. These people did not submit their video to MacRumors for consideration of an Oscar, or stylistic and technique review. Maybe I'm wrong (certainly would not be a first), but I assume the lady or man involved in the video were not the ones to actually link the video to this site for comments.

How did he get it if Otterbox said it's not out yet. They are going to release it the 10th? Did Verizon offer it?

Are we really not getting it people???

This mean CLEARLY has connections in very high places. First the iPhone, now the gigantic tacky red case... I'm starting to think he works for the government.

Through my current research, I have discovered that he is a double agent for Al-Qaedi in Iraq. The first step of his plan is to acquire a Verizon iPhone and a huge ottercase.

I will keep you all posted on the next step of his plans.

man, my electronics have the best timing in the world. my macbookpro (2 yrs old) logic board went kaput when i went to use it today. used it fine yesterday. no accidents, no drops, nothing. yet today it decides to not even boot. fortunately it's still under applecare plan and fortunately we've got an apple store within 15 minutes of my house. but a pain in the butt now that i won't be able to sync my music and other media on my iphone went it comes tomorrow.

sigh.

I don't understand why so many negatives.

People have been complaining for 3 years for all the rumors on the Verizon's iPhone release. This video is the proof that it finally is on the market.

Now you don't have to say anymore, "I'll believe it when I'll see it ."

Edited to remove original message, apparently some people see this as newsworthy, too bad there isn't such a thing as Page 3 on MR

Everything trickles down. Now that Apple is mainstream, people are upset because their little clique is not so little anymore. When someone can buy an iPhone at WalMart, they're not as cool as they used to be. Quite a dilemma for a lot of people. And now everyone can figure out how to post a video on YouTube. And they do. Frankly, whether you're from NYC, SF or somewhere in the midwest, I probably don't care about your video. All part of the look at me, reality show mentality. Just because you can post vids doesn't mean you should.

Because nobody cares about some stupid rednecks who figured out how to use their camcorder to record something that doesn't matter?

"C'mon hun, let's take my new iPhone home. Maybe then I'll beat you senseless and have another few beers since it's only 10am"

Full disclosure: this is coming from someone from Wisconsin. This couple gives Midwesterners a bad name.

Could you be more of an ass? Why would a video of a man receiving his iPhone upset you so much? And when you say things like "nobody cares" and that it "doesn't matter", you are acting as though your opinion is fact. There happen to be people (myself included) who found this video interesting because I'm anxiously awaiting my iPhone 4 being delivered Monday.

Furthermore, why would you make such irrational assumptions about an entire class of people? It really isn't becoming of anyone with even the slightest bit of character.
