It doesn't crash anymore

For me I am not as interested in the visual changes.
I am happy to see that they appeared to have fixed Safari.
There was an issue that Safari would shut down or cause my iPad Air to reset when visiting certain pages. There was a video on a news website that would cause Safari to shut down each and every time I went to view the video.
Well I just did the acid test and I went to watch the video. It worked.
Thank you Apple for fixing this issue as it has restored my faith in Apple's ability to deliver a quality product.

There is if you would rather keep your GUI because it is more pleasing to you. In the end, is it not what is most pleasing to the end user? To me the update isn't more pleasing so I won't update until there is something in an update I feel I must have.

My phone to me is sufficiently fast for me already. Unlike most people I can live without it and am on it less than 20 minutes a day. If I am on it, it is to make a call. The one place this update displeases me. Why should I make my user experience less than satisfactory if I don't have to?

You only use your phone for twenty minutes a day, and only use the phone function? Why did you waste money on an expensive smartphone?

There are still a lot of changes to be made to the Music app but they are moving in the right direction with changing the order the albums are displayed by an artist. Instead of listing them older to newer they finally listed them newer to older. No one has seemed to catch this other than me.

Does no one else find the new shift button confusing? Half the time it's a crapshoot if I'll get a capital letter.

Also, I personally think it took way too long to fix the soft reboots the OS would always need. Whatever. It got fixed.

I love Apple but.....

How can a great design company, with such a long culture of excellence, lose its way so quickly. IOS7+ is an unmitigated disaster. The incoming call screen eptimises the lack of quality control at Apple. Is anyone at Apple concerned? I can't believe the executives are allowing this to happen.

Need more speed performance

ios 7.1 proves that there was a performance degradation from ios 6.1.3 to ios 7. Games like temple run 2 on ipod 5G has smoother graphics now although not as smooth as ios 6.1.3. They need to keep speeding up ios 7.1 and not just stop right there.

Apple seems to be content now with serving garbage to loyal users, just like late 2000s Nokia.

Any golden run ends sooner or later.

why exactly do people say this? as if updating is some arduous task that requires some kind of sacrifice, rather than just a few minutes of letting your phone do its thing and then being done with it until the next update.

unless you are jailbroken, there is literally no reason not to update to a more stable and refined operating system.

The problem is that if you don't like the update there is no way to go back. I would drop back to IOS6 in a heartbeat but Apple will not allow it. I'm tired of my iPhone 5 powering off at 20%, 40%, or whenever it feels like it. (Not sure yet if 7.1 fixes this or not.)

If you're waiting for Apple to make their OS completely customizable so you can make it look like Miley Cyrus in a blender, you probably want to just stick with Android. As for the rest of us, we like things to look nice.

Do you like efficiency? Because I can type 2-3 times faster on Android with Swype and other downloadable keyboards that have the swipe feature... there is also crazy multi-tasking. I can take notes and make phone calls, watch videos, etc. Android is clearly superior... as acknowledged by Steve Jobs in one of his leaked emails.

----------

Yes, yes... So slow that Android still haven't caught up to 64-bit.

And so customizable, with so many skins to imitate iOS7 UI until Apple complained.

And so many malware on Android disguised as innovation.

Yes, 64-bit... how's that working out for you.

How's multi-tasking working out for you? I can take notes and read emails at the same time.

Damn, I can even type 2-3 times faster using the swipe feature... and other downloadable keyboards.

My videos also automatically back up in the cloud and stay there indefinitely, unlike iCloud. LOL...

Android can do so much more... and you're stuck in the iWorld believing your phone is superior! LOL.

----------

where on earth did you read that iOS 7.1 was going to make a wide departure from its normal, clone-inspiring self?

also, if you hate it so much, why are you here reading about it? i cant imagine reading about things i hated, it would be a miserable life of anger & resentment. unless i was being forced to...is that it? is somebody forcing you to read about things you dont like? who is this person? how can we help you free yourself?

Nobody is forcing me to do anything... I just like reading about both iPhone and Android technologies and I pick the superior product. I'm a lover of tech, not a specific brand.
