Sure, but I do alright for myself so the $ isn't a concern.

And as others have said, resell will be great for these.

If it allows the use of an actual keyboard and comes with some decent productivity software... I would love to move my work away from my Mac Mini with a 4k monitor to be able to use my full desktop.

couldn't pay me to wear one. the user experience would be a horrible net negative.

I might be the first person on the list here to say yes....but I can't. No, I would not spend that much. I would want a pair but cant justify that when I look down my wish list.

$2-3k = flop
There is really nothing at the market that would make this an enticing product and I doubt Apple will bring that content/value first. AR/VR is the future but its so far away that I just don't understand why Apple (based on the rumour) believes that its worth the price tag. Don't see that happening. Around $1k is probably max with the Apple tax but this thing should be below $999 for sure.

Honestly, if it delivers… this thing is going to be an absolute beast in power. I hope they get enough developers on board to make this take off, and I hope that between the two M1 chips, advanced screens, cameras, sensors, comfort, privacy, etc….

It would be close to being worth $2K. That being said, I hope they undercut the market and come in at a $1K pricepoint. Take a page from the original HomePod playbook. It blew other speakers out of the water on build quality and innovation, but everyone saw it as a smart speaker and got turned off by Siri. To them that didn’t justify the high price tag.

If people compare this to the low quality VR glasses that are out now, of course it’s going to seem expensive. But it’s like comparing a Porsche to a Honda. They’re both cars, sure, but completely ballparks.

I don't get why people aren't excited about this. The Oculus Quest 2 uses significantly worse technology and software, and the experience is already incredibly immersive. I have no doubt that Apple will make the experience even more seamless.

There will be new ways online socializing that could feel much more real and authentic than text messages and video calls. It's actually more fun to hang out socially in these virtual spaces with activities like ping pong or poker instead of just FaceTiming.

There will be new capacities for story telling and art, with new avenues to be creative within virtual 3D space.

There are new ways we can learn skills. Imagine having a guitar or piano teacher where you can actually see in 3D space how their hands are positioned, with additional information about notes and chords layered on top. It would be an amazing way to scale certain types of education.

For technology enthusiasts, you all are pretty narrow minded about the possibilities of this technology.

If the headset is a MacBook replacement, where I could connect a keyboard and use standard Mac Apps at comparable performance to a MacBook, and the headset is significantly lighter and more comfortable than current HMDs, and it has controllers and tracking quality at least on par with the Oculus Quest(2), and the optics are better than current headsets (clear from edge to edge with minimal god rays and such)... sure, I'd consider it.

Can you do a poll here, at what price people are interested at buying it?
1. Under 500
2. 500-1000
3. 1000-1500
3. 1500-2000
4. 2000+
