I remember saying I wouldn’t pay $400 for a phone. And now look.
So no, which means maybe.

No.Q: Would You Pay $2000+ for Apple's AR/VR Headset?
A: No.
This was a weird edge case for Betteridge’s law of headlines but the law holds nonetheless.Q: Would You Pay $2000+ for Apple's AR/VR Headset?

Sounds horrific. On another thread I wrote what I wanted as an "end game" iPhone:
Self-upgradable device implanted in brain, optical and auditory nerves, and powered by body-generated electricity. Can use thought to turn on and off, type, make calls, take photos, access the web, etc. Might need a separate implant, probably on the hand or forearm, to use as selfie cam.
I have a 24" Wacom, but an Apple Pencil on a Mac monitor that could fold down would be amazing. I like the feel of the Apple Pencil on iPad much better then the Wacom, but the experience isn't as good through sidecar and it would be nice to have a much larger display on Mac. Talk of an A13 in an upcoming display makes me wonder if it might include Apple Pencil support. I'm not sure what else they would use it for unless it could also double as an Apple TV.I must confess I find iPadOS surprisingly very counterintuitive. I use it almost solely for sketching and I love it, but was hoping my wife would use it for her needs, mostly browsing, pages and numbers, as a substitute of her 2012 MBP, so I even got the Magic Keyboard.
The other day she asked me to close some of her safari tabs as she wasn’t able except to close them all. After I tried my customary iOS and MacOS gestures, I got her amused stare, and ended up “Googling” for it.
I believe the “hybrid” nature of iPad is very compromising for iOS and MacOS users. I think Apple should stick with one of those (wish MacOS, but iOS touch interface makes it more plausible) and just add pencil and keyboard support.
I have a google cardboard and it is terrible! So the goal is to make money off of it, ?.

What is the point of HomePod mini if you are locked into their eco system?Home Pod mark 2......
Apple are going to do the same mistake again.
Oculus quest selling really well, and Apple will come in, thinking people will pay $000000 more as it's Apple.
Just as that failed with the Homepod.
It's certainly slated to be a general purpose computing device, so it isn't targeted at a particular vertical. It may be your next device for everything if the tradeoffs are the better balance. Some people use Macs as their primary device, others use iPads as their primary device, and in the future some of these people will be using an AR headset as their primary device. It is very likely iPad apps will run on it natively. I suspect the headset will also work well with Macs (either as virtual display or Oculus Link style remote rendering), so for some people it may be using the headset along with their Mac for work that is above the capabilities of an iPad app. I would also expect it to support legacy input devices (mouse, trackpad, keyboard) when they are a better fit for the task. What's the use case? I can see the need in certain kinds of business for equipment maintainers to see how to fix machines, but I don't see a general need.
