As an owner of an Insta 360 I’m definitely looking forward to this.
Sorry for the newbie question, but does this mean a 360 video taken from one of these cameras like a Insta or GoPro will look “normal” in a Vision Pro? So you’d be an able to look around just as if you were there? I’d really consider buying a camera before my next trip just for this capability.

Can't you people come up with some new material instead of the tired old "X-numer of people......" nonsense?

This point is made every single time the AVP is mentioned... so.. yeah there is a vocal subset that doesn't have anything constructive to say. I just view it as they're embarrassing themselves. Shrugs. No clue why the AVP engenders such hate, some have speculated jealousy, doesn't matter. Whether the AVP goes the way of Newton or not remains to be seen, but what is known is that the Newton's DNA is in every modern apple device, and the AVP likewise is a glimpse of whats to come, and thus already a success.

Great to see the OS developing. Can’t work out if this is the one people will buy or are we one more iteration away. I think this will depend on September hardware upgrade - if a simple M5 chip upgrade then despite welcome improvements (I assume battery life and enhancements like persona) it isn’t touching the main issue of comfort. Could it be like iPad 1 to iPad 2 - 10% reduction in weight (would that even be enough?). We will have to wait and see.

I think VR controllers without VR content is lacking - maybe an announcement of Sony VR games would have been much more significant.

Ultimately content wise, there needs to be something either in the concert realm (once a month concert content) or some Premier league content will help make it more mass appeal.

Strange choice to go with the Logitech Muse and not Apple Pencil.
The Muse technically already exists currently under the MX Ink branding. So instead of inventing a new Apple Pencil it seems like they just pulled in a product that already existed and is having it fine tooled for visionOS. I'm sure if it sells well a "Spacial Pencil" from Apple will hit shelves in a few years.

I can't wait to see if I can upconvert some Insta360 or Canon 3D footage with Topaz AI and watch it natively.

I did this with someone else's footage of a gal on a bridge in Italy (no, it was not porn) and it went from "realistic" to "indistinguishable from reality".

Topaz is slow - and the files are huge - but the realism is incredible. It looks very similar to the footage I subscribe to on AVP - a couple of adventurers who shoot amazing 3D footage (with the higher end Canon) around the world of places I'll never visit...but now my brain thinks I was there because of their amazing 3-5 minute 3D videos.

How are Spatial Scenes different from the 3D conversion released in visionOS 2?
the photos are pretty significantly different. there is actually peak around now. it's pretty impressive even if the fill in is so so - I'd call it pleasantly different.

Have you downloaded it? Is it semi usable or more broken like iOS26?
It's a little rickety but I feel like there's always an adjustment period as the OS repositions things. It's usable but not flawless. The spatial photos are pretty cool with the new update- a pleasant surprise. Also was surprised by the new personas but the setup process is pretty buggy — took me 3 tries — but still the outcome is much better.

A bit more like the holograms in Minority Report. Possibly even better.

Amazing thanks for sharing! I’m guessing the spatial photos require a remap vs auto processing existing?

“…shared spatial experiences between Vision Pro users in the same room.”
🤔 has anyone actually seen two or more VP users in the same room (outside of the Apple Store)?
There is a couple that bought them together and posted on reddit a few times. I love the device but it does feel isolating. If got mine for work and cannot get a second but if I could it would be awesome to share the experience with my wife. Because some of the experiences are absolutely amazing.

They have inventory to move still.

oh sure they spend a lot of money on continued research to sell out a few units in inventory… makes total sense. Btw, last year you were complaining about lack of controller support… are they trying to sell out third party controllers now too?

Pretty big update.

Didn’t mention the Logitech 3D pen though.

It’s unreal how real the persona looks. I can hardly believe it. I wonder how well it moves. Also I wonder if that’s the same persona on the EyeSight screen.
