Can someone tell me if this new DirectX support will allow the Aero Feature of Vista to Run?
I use Fusion and Love it.
Thanks,
Dante

Yes, it takes forever to install. Even without debugging there's a bothersome lag. Fusion takes forever to start, requires my admin password, and has thrown me into BSOD after refusing to close.

......If I want to use "real Windows," I can use Boot Camp. I'm even needing Versacheck less and less--who writes checks these days? Invest another $80 in a World of Windows? Parallels/Fusion is a nifty idea, but maybe just not that useful for my needs after all--I'll file it away with other novelties like Evernote... and GM's EV1.
...
The main issue is the activation not being recognized under both environments (Boot Camp and Fusion). Switching back and forth will prompt you to re-activate every time. You can temporarily avoid the issue for a few months by keeping Vista unactivated and resetting your 30-day trial period (although you can only do that 3 times). I'm only doing this until they fix the problem, then I'll go ahead and activate.
It's great (and surprising) that it will be a free upgrade. What I was really hoping for though is the ability to run OS X server in a VM. I believe the Apple license allows for that now.
Running even a 6 year old game like Warcraft III is still sluggish on my C2D MacBook Pro. Anyone know why? I have 2GB of RAM too, so I doubt it's that. Video card is ok (X1600). I get like 5-10fps.
Still no OpenGL support?
On Windows XP? Disable the debug option in Prefs and try the game again.
I run a bootcamped Vista Ultimate 64 (SP1) under Fusion and it's been OK for me. Just needed to tweak the vmx settings a bit.

I love Fusion, but this build took some steps back. The icons for one got uglier.. how do you do that???
But the really, really bad thing is after shutdown of fusion and reboot of computer it starts up vmnet-dhcp, vmnet-netbios, and about 3 other NETWORK PROCESSES that COMPLETELY go around OS X for sending out data. You could lock down your firewall, or other stuff and these stupid background apps open up ports.
Huge security risk, especially running them as root, hello vmware? what are you guys thinking. We were able to come up with about 3 different (so far small) exploits that allowed me to push packets to the macbook pro so far.
Give me a bit more time, and I'll be hacking a locked down mac shortly remotely on anyone who ever ran that software.
