You sound like a critical thinker, so riddle us poor fanboys this:

How do we know what Apple knows and believes about cars when they have never once said a single word about it?

Timmy's vision with the Apple Watch and AirPods, for example, has been pretty great.

Also, what can we ever know about anyone's mindset beyond our own beliefs?

The fact is that every single industry Apple has entered over the past 20 years, it has come to dominate.

Please tell me what this fanboy is missing?
You are missing the core thing.

Apple Watch strategy is successful but wrong imho and jony ives opinion. I hardly use mine but love it because it’s ceramic.

AirPods are just headphones ofCourse they are a success. I was one of the first persons in Austria to have them but after 2 years battery 30 percent quasi dead.

AirPods Max my list

it’s Apples Brand Power and the weakness of competition - it’s the toxicity of the walled garden which makes that possible.

it’s Perfect Lobbying and brutal environmental exploitation.

you can see it as Great for me it’s not it’s pure evil. It’s like the colorful pearls the invaders gave to the island people - watch bands are this pearls. I Fall for it too - but that’s not apples success it’s mine or our weakness.

I have almost any Apple device under 3000 and all batteries are dying within a year or 2 maybe 3 years - almost any device has faults - smaller and bigger.

that’s not a solid base for building a car - and which industries has Apple entered other than orbiting digital industries - nothing!

hence I stay with my statement - Tim has no real vision other than milking the existing cow!

You do realize that every battery manufacturer in the world has the same limitations with batteries? Apple does not make their own.

Again, you have zero idea what vision Tim and Apple have for cars, and neither do I.

I quite simply do not understand how you - or anyone else - can say that you do without having *any* insight information.

When has Apple ever entered an industry without a clear vision for it? This would be the first time, and I would wager that if you are correct and Apple has no vision for cars, then it's rather likely that there will be no Apple car.

Yeah - that’s my opinion - Tim does not want an apple car!

In my opinion , VW CEO Diess, Apple Tim Cook, Energy Secretary Granholm & Pr.Biden , all watching the Storms this week wrecking everything , should agree that a strong flexible integrated Electric Grid is the key.
Pr.Biden & Pr. VonderLeyen in EU should immediately ask Legislators to fund a full Electric Grid rebuild, or look like incompetents. They should ask Elon Musk for ideas , since he already has presented some interesting Grid solutions including chargers & Clean Energy . An electric grid feeding from Clean Energy like hydrogen , plasma, etc., running their consumer terminals on Apple is the right idea.
USA & EU must get a strong flexible integrated Electric Grid right now .

Wrong!

we don’t need a grid - we need islands and we finally need that solar roof fast rolled out. ofCourse we need storage from Tesla, too.

in Europe we have a great grid - they are whining like always for money - but It’s strong And powerful.

i don’t want centralized systems anymore - AGAINST GRID!

Well, it's not valued as a car company, they still make little to no money from selling cars. Look at the discrepancy between Tesla Stock and Bonds. IIRC investors value the stock of Tesla 7-8 times higher than Volkswagen, while Investors also value any Tesla bond 4 times worse.
not sure where you get that information , they are pretty close in ratings. tesla will be far better than volks in the near future.

There is a lot more to a car than a computer, even though the computer system is a critical part of the car. You have to be able to master both, and no one does at the moment.

Volkswagen really proved they could not deliver useful software in time. Whether or not they can make it work is another question.

I have personally driven the ID.3 with three different software versions. When the first shipped in September, the software was almost unusable (laggy, buggy, a huge number of sporadic error messages). After the first update (around November) it became almost useful (laggy but much less buggy).

In December VW released version 2.0, which should have been called 1.0 beta. That is the newest software I tried, and I would call it mostly quite ok.

VW has promised version 2.1 with the OTA update capability within a month or so. It won’t make software an advantage for VW, but most likely software won’t be a show stopper after that.

A lot of stumbling, but I have been impressed (taking into account that we talk about a German car manufacturer) at the improvement they have been able to make in a few months. A bad start, but the race is not over.
I owned a Jetta. It was a bloody hot mess with constant problems with the electronic injection that cost me 1000’s of dollars in repairs and they could never fix it. The dash was a running joke with owners as the display was constantly dead if it heated up barely. Will never buy one of their expensive crap cars again. I now have a Lexus which has run perfectly for 9 years. Yes there are companies that do it right.

Just be aware every car manufacturer can produce a lemon. Your experience with VW isn’t a common one.

I’ve had two Mercedes and an Audi , they were all unreliable badly made junk . So much for superior German engineering .

I had a Toyota loan car for a few months when one of them was getting repaired again , it was awesome.

sorry that’s a bit off topic 😂

Basically if the apple car is built in the Far East id definitely buy one , German.. no way
