VZW Order Status Thread

Also, I am on vacation right now and all the Verizon stores are 30 minutes from here, so even if I called around and found one, I doubt they would let me order over the phone and come pick it up.

I ordered a regular 6 64GB Space Gray on 9/17 through Verizon and had an original ship date of 10/21, that was moved to 10/17 a week ago, and now they shipped it with an overnight arrival date of Tuesday 9/30.
The FedEx tracking confuses me though. It was picked up and left from Memphis, TN and then.. went BACK to Memphis! LOL wtf

I saw someone post about this thread on reddit, so I made an account over here because I was wondering what was going on with my order.
I placed my order on 9/22 in a store for an iPhone 6 space gray 16GB. I went to the iconic tracker and put in my info and was given a 10/17/2014 expected shipping date.
Yesterday around mid day it changed from "We have received your order and it is in process." to "Your order has been sent for processing." and my expected shipping date field was blank. I checked with my CC company and my card was billed, so I was a bit concerned.
I went to the other tracker on Verizon's website and punched in my info, and it changed from "We have received your pre-order..." to "Order status" and underneath that there was a box with 4 smaller boxes in it. One that said order number and one next to it with my order number, and below that one that said tracking number and one next to it that was blank.
I was concerned about this, so I made a thread on reddit yesterday. Some people said this meant my phone was coming soon, but some other guy said that there were issues because of the trade ins (which made no sense to me anyway). Tonight I read about this thread and registered over here. As I was typing this I went to the order status page and BAM! Tracking number was there! I checked with FedEx and it will be here tomorrow by 3PM.
So excited!!!!

16GB 6+ Space Gray are like unicorns it seems though. Starting to feel the 'Ship By 10/10' date might actually be accurate.
From what I'm reading the 64gb 6 pluses are shipping, but apparently not too many 128 or 16 for that matter. I'm still showing a 10/17 ship date on a silver 128gb 6 plus ordered 9/13. Anyone else?
I've head conflicting reports on this. Every time I've asked Apple directly they've said they cannot handle EDGE customers.

Just sitting, wishing, waiting (I'm on vacation) and trying not to get too antsy and ordering the 4.7" instead. I really want the 6+ though, hoping to see some movement this week.
Has anyone ever been able to order with Verizon over the phone at a local Verizon store?

I just wish they would update a little more. I'd be very upset if I wake up early in the joining and there's no update. I would at least like to know that my iPhone is in the same state and city as I am, so if I miss the delivery somehow I can walk to the post office and pick it up the next day.

I think we all have more "surprises" since we get shipped with Fedex mostly that I have seen. I haven't see many origin showing China as first few scans. I am pretty sure they are coming from there, but it seems like they start showing scans in memphis, correct?

I believe they're shipped from the verizon distributor in Memphis. At least that's what I heard. They're only shipped from China if they were ordered from the Apple Online store. At least that's what happened when I ordered my iPhone 5 a few years back.

That's pretty easy to decipher - it most likely went from a smaller FedEx facility to a bigger location (maybe big airport sorting place).
There's also a distribution center in Coatesville, PA, a suburb of Philly. That's where mine originated from. I'm getting mine tomorrow. It's actually truly next day delivery!

I think it depends on where the consumer is located. Tennessee is closer to California is so that's probably why I got that distributor. I'm assuming your in the east coast so that's why you got the one in PA?

Learned something new..TY hey, btw, I don't remember if I asked you, but did you get an email telling you your order has been sent for processing, or did you happen to check the status and then it showed it, then came the email? Or was an email only sent to you telling you it shipped, then tracking number email? LOL

I never got an email that my order was sent for processing. I've been checking the preorder everyday since I ordered my phone lol. I got the tracking number the day after it was sent to FEDEX via email (although I had already checked th day before).

Thank you! Yes, it still appears that most should get there orders 2-3 weeks earlier than told delivery date.
