I foresee that languages will disappear, people will not talk, and everyone will just use emoji's to converse with one another.

If that happens, I would be using Google Translate extensively and will be subsequently confused/entertained/annoyed with the AI translations.

Please tell me why there is a team devoted to making new emojis and yet the iMac hasn't had an update in 2 years. Tim let's check our priorities.

I like all these emojis, but someone needs to come up with a better system to sort through and find the one to use.

I just want to delete the ones that are stupid and irrelevant.
[doublepost=1549895525][/doublepost]These are a brilliant way to communicate huh? We have a keyboard of 26 letters and 10 numbers(not to mention the punctuation and symbols) that can help a person type millions upon millions of words, phrases, descriptions and unlimited numbers yet this "consortium" wants to use a picture for every-thing and every-one. Yes, that is so efficient. The members of this "consortium" obviously seriously need more to worry about and more important work to do besides destroy language as we know it, because that is exactly what they are doing. Everyone knows, NOTHING good comes from the committee environment. Especially one that is taking cues from anyone who wants to submit to them.

Destroy language as we know it.

Most of the (new) emojis are really ridiculous! How many people will use emojis represent someone with disabilities and why!?

Me. I’m deaf and use sign language and there are a few others of us around Macrumors too. I wasn’t keen on the previous hearing aid emoji as I don’t use hearing aids, and it also focuses on the medical aspect rather than the language aspect. Ditto the ‘broken ear’ symbol that is often used as a signifier for deaf services.

Don’t forget there are also many non-deaf people that have signing as a first or mother tongue, so it’s nice to have a signing emoji.

There are also rather a lot of wheelchair users and various other disabled people in computing, some of whom are very high profile so perhaps you could mind your manners a bit more.
