Hmmmm...

The only thing keeping me from predicting a late June early July release of the iPhone 5 is that the white was released so recently but then again the verizon release and the white release were fragmented unnecessarily so it could be a non limiting factor.

I try to speculate from the point of view of the masses and what they expect in relation to the previous release to prevent any Mainstream worry to it's perceived "mistakes." ( unless potential stubbornness/pride comes into play )

The new phone will come in black and white because we didn't get a full life cycle of white last year.

It should have a "solution" for the antenna worries of last year to minimize any undue negative perception.

New processor and camera at least.

What if its called the 5 to separate itself distinctly from the 4.

It will be an unpredicted surprise to compensate for the public embarrassment and to reestablish that Apple has control of it's privacy.

Right now everyone thinks no iPhone, despite it being the historically correct cycle time. So if Apple has everyone thinking no iPhone at WWDC, what's the opposite of that? That would be an element of unexpected surprise. It would show they clamped down, threw out decoys, and employed the measures necessary to maintain secrecy, and thereby protective profit margins.

Nobody from apple actually said they Aren't announcing it. That was a rumor. Nobody knows.

What if this is the 5 and the next is the 5S?

I personally have no vested expectations. But what I do have is a sense of just how secretive they can be, to the point where we know nothing, especially in the wake of the fiasco last year, you can easily imagine a scenario where they went above and beyond this year, and they have the power to.

If we operate from that zero point and consider that the absence of clues doesn't necessarily mean an absence of a phone announcement, we can begin to speculate from the point of view of the mainstream market which Steve analyzes and as a relationship he has built on certain expectation and consistently fulfilling those expectations.

So I asked myself what our expectations are and I smelled something suspicious. I did not hold weight to anything but my trust in apples secrecy and my access to the only public knowledge we have which is: what we want.

And Steve is in the position he is because he consistently cares about Consistently giving us what we want. (even before we know we want it lol)

Probably because the background behind the 5 is the iOS background.

All I'm saying is that setup technically STILL leaves it open, almost suspiciously so lol.

That and the fact they never announced that there is "officially no hardware announcement."
-it's kinda just implied and assumed...

But they did announce what they will cover for the first time ever which is suspicious. Only two reasons would make them do that: to set correct expectations/prevent dissapointment, orr to give us a vague decoy and keep us in the dark until the very moment he says one more thing.

If they pulled that off it could be potentially magical.

When was the last time they truly surprised us??

iOS 5 will be announced. To hope for something else is OK. To act like you know is silly. Just because you want something doesn't mean apple will respond to your emergency.

Wouldn't you rather the next iphone came out when it was right, and ready?

Well those drippy water drops are from the iPhone background, not the iPad ;)

Just stretching the harmless speculation to it's potential extremes lol ;)

I just don't want to see any disappointment. M'kay? ;)

I think people need to get over the fact that there won't be an iPhone 5. The 5 with the (i think now official) iOS background, hints at iOS 5 and Apple specifically said that they will be focusing on it this year at WWDC. They did it so that people don't hope for an iPhone 5 and Apple stocks don't decrease when they're supposed to increase.

I have a hard time believing that Apple would release a completely-revamped iPhone model without it being LTE. And as we learned in the Verizon announcement, the technology isn't quite there yet.
