Ironically, on the Quarterly call, Tim Cook just claimed that their product pipeline is the best its ever been.
Yes, sure...
They have left us speechless...

1000 words:
If Asus+MSI+Gigabyte have almost 900 different Intel mobos - it's complete BS to claim that Apple's margins won't let them make two mobos.

Complete fanboi BS that ignores the facts. Don't be apologists.

I Stand with Aiden, its pure BS and apologetic the FanBloggeer made Matrix about Apple's "obsessive" corporate efficiency drives against product diversity.

Appleś HQ become a guetto, Apple's directors do not want in any way to increase Designers, Engineers working at apple, neither they want to work more on more products, they are limited by election to deliver a small product line to keep this getto as small as they want, all this rises red fags to those with experience in large corporations, specially on state-ruled corporations, if you read this, you understand what is Apple, what it was PDVSA, what it was RIM, and many others, sadly I believe Apple is doomed as Jobs legacy, maybe after cook (and Ive) it could rise again as a corporation controlled by the stockholders and not the cuppertino's employe-boss club.

This is almost entirely impossible to parse meaning. You might try spellcheck.

The idea that Apple is somehow 'going rogue' against stockholders' wishes is also hilarious.

Strange to talk about how Steve Job's Mac legacy is "doomed" when every Mac family on sale today (MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini, Mac Pro) was created under his direction.

Apple's directors do not want in any way to increase Designers, Engineers working at apple...

Stuff like this makes me severely doubt you have any inside sources.

The problem is Apple has too many designers, and they're the ones calling the shots.

The reason you're not getting a "box" or "slots" is because that's not "design friendly."

Also the reason no one is working on a MacBook Pro you can open or upgrade, and the obsession on making it thinner and thinner. The MacBook Pro is a designer Mac, not a pro Mac.

Apple R&D is now over $3 billion per quarter, the highest it has ever been for such a period. So the Board in every way wants to increase designers and engineers working at Apple.

I'd do a "s;design;style;g" on that post.

"Design" can include engineering - "style" refers to the appearance. The Z8 has a great design, although it won't win any awards for appearance. The MP6,1 has great style, but is disastrous engineering.

Watch band stylists demand a big salary. ;)

Dongles? They are modular, user configurable ports. Modular and user configurable are features preached and begged for over and over again ;).

Joke aside, that we need more that one type of interface to outside world is a complete failure. It should be possible to design interconnection that can interface with all possible hardware so the end user does not need to bother about orientation of the connection (that took 20+years) or the type of connection.

Not by way of dongles. Imagine having your ‘ ‘ified’ iPad connected to external GPU ( because the inside one doesn’t cut it ) by way of power cords, connection cords and extra expenses... better still... hooked into an external monitor because apple thought a smallish cube works better because innovation...which means having to remove the monitor. Or the pencil connected via wires to a non existent port on your iPad. Better buy an iO hub for using it.

Good luck with that setup.

Removing features without supplying a better alternative is even worse failure.

Hey, first sentence was a JOKE about modularity and user upgradability. Some self irony is healthy.

Who said anything about removing features? I did not. I said that the IT industry (that is, not only Apple) has failed to give the user a simple to use interface between the inside of a computer to any external device via one type of cable (and NO dongles). What is wrong with that ambition?

I do not assume that my iPad can replace my Mac pro with 2X27 inch monitors. Why would I do that?

Nothing ofcourse. USB was a move in that direction. Thunderbolt seems the most promising on that front. Displays... well right now it’s mostly choosing between display ports or HDMI. Internally, PCI-e is certainly the most reliable.

It’s a desirable trait but I suppose most companies are wary of standards championed by a rival. This is much more visible on the software side of things.

It's not so much hype but a generalization for large share owners who are likely much older and not tech-centric.

Anyway, it looks like it's almost June. Without further ado, I present my question to y'all. Does this mean we should expect an awesome, new Mac Pro? Or will I have better luck finding the answer to alchemy?

pshhhh alchemy! bah!

It's chicken innards you'll be wanting for predicting the next Mac Pro.

If they aren't releasing until Jan 2019 at the earliest I doubt we'll see a Mac Pro reveal at WWDC.

At this point we're more likely to see a separate presser at Apple when they unveil it.

...all anyone wants is a high-end workstation with off-the-shelf parts, and a nice case design. The only reason anybody wants Apple to make it is because they restrict macOS to hardware they build.

They should have been able to go from 0 to shipping in 6 months on this. Maybe what they come up with will be awesome, but there's just as good a chance it's some cockamamie design that makes trade-offs nobody wants.

I mean, they could ship something in a slightly modified macpro5,1 case and we would be happy.

That would mean that they would be giving the customer what they want as opposed to what junk would be coming out of Sir Idiot Boy's head.

Not happening....
