I wonder if there'll be anything for Jony to talk about? I doubt they've developed any new design features for the new MBPs. It's probably going to be all the same stuff from the current Macbook + the new Touch Bar.

My main problem with the cMBP is the fact that they are charging $1100 for a 4 year old processor, 4GB of RAM, a 500GB 5400-rpm HDD, and a 1280x800 TN screen in 2016. Not so much the concept of the cMBP itself.

It does have an IPS panel! Don't make fun of my Mac! It's still very capable of… being horribly slow, thick, heavy and non-retina. :(
But when I sell it I can still claim it to be the 'latest model'!

Guys, if I understand this correctly, every computer with USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 is able to powered by it for up to 150W of power supply.

So if this is true, then only thing that could bottleneck the power consumption is Power Supply itself, and design of the computer.

I am genuinely wondering if this may mean that we might actually see higher powered components in next MBP, like for example RX 470. Full Polaris 10 in embedded market has 95W TDP, with fully reference(desktop) core clocks. Polaris 11, with 1.4 GHz boost has under 50W TDP. There are rumors that this may be because of new, different process than GloFo.

TL;DR - The important question is whether we will see more powerful parts in MBP. I actually would welcome this change.

If Apple was unhappy with the 85 watts the charger delivers now they would have changed it. They won't make the new MacBooks thicker, heavier and shorter battery life for graphics' sake.

If this happened here (in the States) he'd be knocked out in seconds, on the floor squirming. What the hell are those Frenchies doing, pinning him and all, use some aggressive force - especially when he grabs that brown dude by the neck. Theres like 3 of them and one of him.

The security guards were most likely the ones of the mall, normally, shops don't have their own guards in Europe. If I were an Apple Store clerk I would not risk my health for some damage that will not even hurt the company, as insurance will pay everything the guy can't.
Also, there's a different approach to violence in most European countries. You can't use excessive force on that guy, as the security guards are now law enforcers. They would make themselves sueable. They're essentially only allowed to stop him from leaving until the police arrives, and to defend themselves if they're attacked. They can't even put handcuffs on him. Also, they knew they were being filmed, so they had to act very carefully.
Other customers would also not be too happy and leave the place if excessive force was used.

Excessive force and aggression is the name of the game here in the States, but I get what you're saying.

...https://flipboard.com/@flipboard/flip.it/qL97Ol-apples-crazy-new-dual-screen-macbook-pr/f-1cd9ab0b8a/businessinsider.com ,so Apple is rumored to be working for a Macbook pro with a detachable touch display,
could it be that Hurrycan Arm chip is to drive that one ,while the Intel architecture still under the keyboard?
Dude, your link talks about the OLED touch strip, not a "detachable touch display".

I quote. " It is expected to replace the function keys at the top of the keyboard with a new touch-sensitive screen. It will be capable of fulfilling similar functions to the physical keys it replaces — and may also be customisable with shortcuts apps and features."

Hearing the same four USB-C ports, OLED bar, and space grey color option rumors from them and that they're due out soon as Apple finalizes their video content late in the game. Color is the last step.

If you're telling the truth, you're my favorite person in the world. I need to believe in this. It seems plausible enough, so I want to believe it.

If you're lying....no, I don't even want to think about it. You're telling the truth. I'm a believer.

really ?
Apple's crazy new dual-screen MacBook Pro might be launching next month
Rob Price/29 set 2016
Apple is believed to be working on a version of the MacBook Pro with a second, touch-sensitive screen that sits above the keyboard — and it might launch as soon as next month.

Yes, really. In the context of the article, they referred to the OLED touch screen as a "touch-sensitive screen" that can perform what the previous physical function keys could do, and the article added that it can also be customized by app.

From your link: "It is expected to replace the function keys at the top of the keyboard with a new touch-sensitive screen. It will be capable of fulfilling similar functions to the physical keys it replaces — and may also be customisable with shortcuts apps and features." The article is just interchanging "touch strip" with "touch sensitive screen". Technically, they are not wrong, as it is a screen, but Macrumors users just like to refer to it as a strip because it's a screen in the shape and dimension of a strip since it replaces the Fn keys.

ok,i understand ,i suppose i've mixed some of my desires and fears, arm chips :) and this very long waiting, thanks

I just checked wwdc 2012 keynote.

They updated the MacBook air, the classic MacBook pro, and revealed the 15" retina MacBook pro.
all of these were available on that day. available for purchase on that day, shipping that day.
Or at-least Schiller said: 'shipping today'!

Schiller also said, regarding their notebooks:
'Nobody turns over their entire line as quickly and completely as we do at Apple. We're really proud of the engineering team and the work they do to do this quick so that you can get the exact product you need.'

Sooo, I think maybe its a bit far-fetched to use that as a reference for today. ;)

Imagine if Apple did this for the very next macbook pro's coming in a month or two. At least I coule be able to take comfort in knowing my outrage would be shared by many, many others.
Then in response, some apple exec would pull out the 'courage' line again, and we'd all just shake our heads at the insane asylum Apple Inc. has become ... and walk away.

Last Mac I'll be buying will be the maxed-out model right before this shift, if it ever happens.
This reminds me that the last Apple product I bought was the iPad Pro. I thought that I would use the pencil more, but after some initial enthusiasm I only used the iPad as a glorified book reader. I had some hope that iOS 10 would bring some useful features such as mouse support for the (very good) Microsoft Office Apps, and (just maybe) some better file management outside the cloud.

I'm typing this on my ASUS Zenbook Pro with Skylake i7-6700HQ and Nvidia 960 dGPU. I still wait to see what Apple will come up with, but I could manage to leave the Apple eco system for good if they disappoint me again. I work in a Windows dominated world, only my family is all converted to Apple products (which was a great way to reduce my PC support to them), but I'm man enough to handle Windows.

Fully expect him to talk about those new hinges like the best thing since sliced bread

This is beyond my basic knowledge: what would be the disadvantage of ARM-based?

Only Mac AppStore apps will work on ARM initially. No, VMs or Boot Camp to run Windows/Linux. Apple's current ARM SOCs are made for low-power/low-performance devices like the iPad Pro and 12" MacBook. No Thunderbolt 3.

My guess is that Apple will make a partial move to ARM with the 12" MacBook but keep using Intel in the other Macs.

My guess is they first started to experiment with the iPad Pro. Next step will be their new entry level MacBook. If it works out, they will eventually ditch Intel for good. I think it makes sense too. Apple wouldn't have to wait for Intel, Nvidia or AMD like every other manufacturer would. The A10 chip is passively cooled, yet it has quite impressive performance. If they'd put let's say 4 of them running in parallel, they'd get very high performance when you need. When you don't need high performance they would use just one or two of the 16 cores which gives you awesome battery life. This would require very good integration on the software side to do everything with multithreading but then again, optimizing software with hardware is the thing Apple does better than anyone else.

Ok we got Ming, Gurman saying Q4, front page says 10.12.1 (which should drop soon), new polaris drivers. This ^ guy up here. I'm so ready to be done. Got me feeling like captain planet in this piece.

The power is Yours!

Two questions to let time flow:

· considering confirmed the 4 USB-C ports, how do you think to manage with them? I'm pretty sure they'll launch an Apple-super-expensive-mega-dongle like this. Sad but (almost) true.

· about the OLED bar: how will it be possible to make it work with bootcamp and windows drivers?
