Whenever and whatever Apple releases I hope they get wifi right this time. Both my Mac Mini and 2015 rMBP drop connection constantly. Support tried to tell me its my network, except all my other devices (inc iPhone and iPad) keep the connection just fine. It's taken the shine off two otherwise wonderful machines.

I had that problem on my 2012 13" rMBP. Dropped the wi-fi frequently, but no other device (Phone, iPad, Windows laptop) did it. Unfortunately I kind of thought of it was a Mac problem, unlikely to change...

Did your Macs still remain connected to WiFi but have no internet connection? Or did they drop the WiFi connection altogether?

So are we actually expecting a proper reveal event for the new MacBooks? Part of me still thinks that Apple will just do a press release, a video with Johnny Ive, put it on the main page of the Apple website and maybe hold a private event where the press can get some hands on time with it for 1st impression articles.

As far as I know (maybe I missed something), the only Mac products that are rumored to release this year are:

- Redesigned MacBook Pro
- Updated iMac (from what I've heard, this is just a chip update, nothing major)
- New 4K or 5K Thunderbolt display with built in GPU
- Possibly an updated MacBook Air (though I'd rather see Apple kill the Air and make an ARM powered MacBook retina to have as their entry level sub $999 model).

I just don't see that being enough for a full scale event. Not that the MacBook Pro doesn't deserve its own event, because it definitely does.

That's plenty enough. Especially if there's a physical redesign with OLED function bar on the MBP's.
Also remember, Apple held an event just this spring covering only the smaller iPad Pro, iPhone SE, and yes new nylon watch bands.
Plus, we'll see some updates about adoption rates of iOS 10 and Mac OS.

I used to have this problem, but it was my router. Yes, my Android phone was fine, but my MBP kept dropping.

Ah good point. I almost forgot about that disappointing March event.

Remains connected but has no internet connection. Happens every 20 mins or so. Turning wifi off and on again always fixes it. It's a real pain in the ass, and leaves a sour taste coming from the home of "It just works"...

I'd love to know how you fixed it. I've tried a few things on my mac after googling, but nothing fixed it.

I don't have any conclusive evidence but my early '08 MBP started to get wifi problems years ago. It was the only device in our network that was troublesome. Wifi just stopped working and the menubar icon didn't do anything, it was completely frozen. Trying to turn airport on and off via terminal didn't help either. Only solution was to reboot. I got worse and worse. When it needed rebooting every 20min I got fed up and bought a new PCI-E Wifi card from ebay. It was made by Dell and it was a plug 'n play swap. It helped a lot but the problem still happened sometimes. Years went by and ****** consumer and gamer level wifi routers acted up and I replaced them with better and better ones. Now I am using Asus AC-RT66U and AC-RT87U with MerlinWRT custom firmwares and have had no issues what so ever. I could change my original Airport card back in if I was bothered to know if it is faulty but I don't think I ever will.

Your problem doesn't sound like mine but I would still suspect something in your network. Once I installed win7 on my iMac and I had wifi and ethernet working at about 200kb/s which was extremely frustrating and wierd. In the end it was an old but expensive "enterprise" level HP switch that needed a reboot. I'm afraid that if you want very reliable network you have to spend a few grand on Cisco hardware. I have heard good things about Ubiquiti too which is a lot cheaper alternative.

The silver iPhone was the white front, right?

I'd love to see a silver one that had a black front.

OMFG! Finally someone who thinks like me! I have always wanted that. The prime reason for me wanting that is the MBP, they're silver aluminum, and the bezel is black. It would be perfect, and I can match both the MBP and iPhone. I hate Space Grey tbh, though am loving the new matte black and jet black, but MAN silver back, with black bezels, now thats awesome.

Yeah, this.

The current macs are black bezels with silver body, they could have made a similar iPhone. I never liked space gray that much. At least we now have Matte Black.

I agree that Space Grey doesn't quite do it for me. If they don't go matte black, I'll probably just go silver again.

I wish Apple would abandon the idea that color requires a white front. I'd LOVE a ProductRed iPhone with black bezels.

Not sure if a ProductRed MBP would be awesome or gaudy as hell...

I actually love Space Grey, awkward. I think it's a nice design color that looks more rugged than silver, and "older/classy" (not physical age, but of "maturity") whilst remaining soft to the eye and elegant.

I don't know, I never liked black, either on cars or on clothes, and almost every guy I know (A large proportionality of men are unfashionable, let's admit it) resorts to black as default. I'm not calling black unfashionable or lame, but it gets kind of old seeing black after black on men who believe said color is "manly". However that's a bit off tangent.

I believe fine details, and well-intentioned curvatures are far more prominent on Space Grey, and the whole product looks far classier than matte black, which resembles just a black box, like, idk, Razer Blade Stealth or Lenovo ThinkPad. Some people, however, would prefer said "black box" design.

To each their own.

Exactly what I want too.

I have no idea why the following is like it is :

Silver iphone with white bezel [should be black]
Bluetooth keyboard - silver with white keys. Why not black? Looks ok on its own but when a laptop next to it seems odd.
Ipad pro keyboard black with white ipad bezel?
White pencil looks odd with space grey ipad and keyboard

I dont get it and doesn't really make sense when you have several devices next to each other.

Nothing to do with a new MBP unless it has a white keyboard

Well this week starts the first possible week we could get the announcement of an event. Fingers crossed.

Best Buy should start running thin soon if new supplies will be available on launch day. Then its time to start poppin corks.

very interesting and a bit odd too. Wonder why they would post that. From my random memory recollection the things that seem to appear within best buy prior to launch come true most of the time [or am I making that up.... can someone confirm].

edit... I am supposed to be working but too addicted to this thread. Bestbuy better no be messing with my drugs...
