Here's a crazy question...do you think these MBP's are being rushed to market?
Were they really intended to go out in March with KabyLake chips?
I know, I know we've waited forever. But why was the earnings report moved ahead? Is this announcement simply to appease shareholders when see the massive drop in Mac sales?
Tim: "We've got some exciting stuff in the pipeline that you'll hear about in a couple of days"
So I have another question. Since I'm coming from Windows I have an external hard drive which I think won't work as well with macOS. What steps can I take so I will be able to read and write files from macOS and Windows? Preferably I would use it as a drive for Time Machine as well.

Is it NTFS formatted? If so, MacOS is not going to read it. You have to format it to FAT. It deletes all your files, so you have to move your files to your PC, format your external hard drive to FAT, and copy your files to it.So I have another question. I wonder if the new MBP will all get the MB keyboard.
Can you guys recommend different storage options? I'm going for 16 GB, i5, but I don't know if 256 vs 512 GB is best. What are you guys getting?
I have 128, use iCloud for photos, Spotify for music, some local music for iTunes – songs that are missing from Spotify – and I have 29 GB free. And I use a SD card for Time Machine. When I want to go somewhere with the laptop or am trying to update to Sierra (still hasn't quite worked out) I just take the card out.Can you guys recommend different storage options? I don't suggest using the one drive as Time Machine AND other purposes. But yes, as other fellas commented, Time Machine must be formatted Journaled. For other purposes it's best left as NTFS and you can install Paragon or Tuxera NTFS on your Mac to enable it to read and write to NTFS.So I have another question. Probably 512 purely because I expect that to be the default storage config for the top end 15 inch.
Depends on how many files you have. But I would go for 512GB, it more future proofCan you guys recommend different storage options? I'm going for 16 GB, i5, but I don't know if 256 vs 512 GB is best. What are you guys getting?

My guess is that this is going to be another 2-3 year wait... And then it will be an argument to just skip Kaby Lake....![]()
I have that feeling too. Initially they planned Skylake for last year, but Intel was so late to the party they decided to skip it altogether, and move on to Kaby Lake. But Kaby Lake won't be available for Macbook Pros till next year, so they couldn't just skip once more...they just had to release something
I remember they use to have a black macbook. I play drums too, but I play on TAMA. Are you a jazz drummer?Anyone else hoping for new color choices? I'm pretty tired of the standard aluminum. Would love a matte black or space grey MBP.
Yup, 0.99 euro a month. So, you pay a monthly subscription?
128 GB. I don't do "work" work on the MBP. Some Photoshop, some InDesign, I've got music software on it but don't really use it as the Hackintosh is much more useful for that, but if I'm on the road it's handy to be able to do things. So my backups run back to... let me check... July. It's good enough for me.What sized SD card do you use?
