Yeah that's one of the things I'm looking forward to. Last Mac I had was from 2012, but technology has improved all around since then. Faster SSDs, faster memory, faster processors, better power efficiency...I can't wait to try one of these new machines :D It will be an upgrade in every possible way from my 2012 machine (unless the keyboard is inferior )
I also have a 2012, and agreed on all points. The processor isn't going to be enormously faster, but when you factor GPU and SSD speed, it should be a really noticeable upgrade.

what is the song title and artist??

anyone know? Siri doesn't recognize it :( I know its willy wonka, but who is this singer?

It's originally from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factore (Pure Imagination - Willy Wonka)

Who that artist is though... I'm not sure yet.

2 things I'm still curious about tomorrow... eGPU support if any, and the slight chance of Pencil trackpad support.

While I wont be getting skylake I will be looking to see if there is eGPU support and lowering the price of upgrading to 16gb ram and 1tb ssd. When Kaby Lake/ any intel processor that can fully support HEVC and VP9, and AV1 codec I will upgrade.

Except they have remixed this version....
Nope. They added a track on top of the actual song. A remix, by definition, required considerable changes. Throw on a Hans Zimmer track and you'll get the same thing. In fact, the overlaid audio came from AudioJungle if I'm not mistaken.

I live in a pretty safe city, but I can imagine places where people will just grab one of them from someone's ear and run away. Will be great for running tho, that's the most exciting product I've seen from Apple in the last 2 years.. which is a bit sad too..

I feel like they'd be terrible for running. They look like they could easily fall out with normal use. Running you can forget about it.

I guess this is it. I have class before, during, and after the keynote, so I won't be back here tomorrow until the late afternoon/evening. It's been real, guys. Please go and purchase the SurfaceBook so I can get my MBP earlier!!

Haha, just kidding! But yeah, thanks for this thread guys! I loved every second I was here! Cheers!

Damn it, LOL. NYC here with ~8 or 9 stores within 30 min drives from my house. You got me beat.

If I was counting the NYC stores I'd be at about 14, but there's about a 0% chance I'll drive into the city to get a MBP. I'll either order online (most likely) or be visiting one of the North Jersey stores. But no matter what, I'm taking a late lunch tomorrow to coincide with the keynote time.

Get your priorities straight and just cut class. Do it, man. Eerybody's doin it. Try it out, man. Just one time.

Give up to the peer pressure.

how big of a deal is the support for HEVC? I download legal ;) movies that say that they are HEVC h265. They used to run fine on my 2013 15in macbook pro. Dont really get the big deal.

Honestly tho, is there a website other than Apple's that I can stream the keynote from?(No ads, preferably)

Or a VLC link stream

So who's going to their respective apple stores at the time of the keynote... I was planning on pre-ordering and picking up at the store.

So if enough of you east coast guys go to your Apple stores when they first open in the morning and ask about having new sealed products in the back we're bound to get at least one truthful answer on a release tomorrow in store. That way we'll know if we should watch the keynote at home or outside the store.

Really excited for tomorrow. I've been a semi-happy owner of a Day One 2006 MacBook Pro Core Duo (which was a bit of a lemon tbh, think it went in for repairs under AppleCare like 7 or 8 times? Alas.), a really happy owner of a 15" 2011 MacBook Pro i7, and, soon, a 15" 2016 MacBook Pro. Hooray!

My only question is whether or not I should be planning a trip to the Apple Store, debit card in hand, tomorrow or next week. Fingers crossed it's tomorrow, but I won't be complaining either way!

Good luck everyone!
Were those repairs under warranty?? That sounds like it should have been fully replaced.
