True, I saw this was posted pages back but from the anandtech forum and websites are just starting to pick it up.
The problem here is all of them directly (linking to AnandTech forum) or indirectly (linking to the file hosting link from there) cite the only source we have as of now - AnandTech forum. More sites retelling this story does not give it more credibility without new sources introduced.

That was posted a couple of pages before on this thread. But thanks anyway.

I have to see a giant signal that Apple will launch the new rMBP on March to not buy tomorrow the 15-inch model...

I think it's highly possible that the 15" will launch in June, with the 12" MacBook & 13" MBP getting updated in March.

In short, no one knows for sure.

That's the problem, no one knows for sure the launch date, and well, I can wait until march, but as I say before I have to finish my final degree project...if it doesn't launch on March I'll lose 2 months of work from February until March...

Anandtech forum post though is sourcing a file posted to a portal that has used to communicate investor and products in the past, for years. Many other companies use shareholder.com to disseminate this type of information. We know this is the right processor (or atleast, "suitable") because the proc sku is incremented across all three procs I.e. the i7-4xxx as someone else alluded to in the previous page.

When the Haswell E price list leaked the CPU were released within a week. Are here any recent examples of pricing leaks and lengths of time from that to general release of the CPU?

Intel HD540 is on par with GT750M. And it is in 15W CPUs that are Macbook Air-class CPUs.
So HD 580 should be at least 50-60% faster than GT750M.

Which just shows how far behind the 15" rMBP is right now GPU wise. I have nothing against AMD and look forward to Polaris, but if Intel is releasing the CPUs in a week, just stick a 950M in there until Polaris.

The problem is that if I knew the update was not until June I might buy now, but after waiting until March but there's no 15" rMBP update I might as well wait the extra 2-3 months for June at that point.

Again, all Apple needs to do slap a 950M in there. Put Polaris GPUs in a late-2016 refresh.

yes i had surface book for 2 weeks...no way to be my primarily machine or laptop and i return it
that hinge it is nice but when its open it scratches all glass or matt desks+software issues

New Info, would be awesome if Apple uses this:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/9990/...tels-pricing-lists-xeon-e3-1575m-v5-with-gt4e

TLDR version:

45w Quad core CPU + intel HD580 professional grade graphic (know as P580)

Both
Xeon E3-1545M v5 (8M cache, 4 Cores, 8 Threads, 2.90 GHz, 14nm) - $679
Xeon E3-1515M v5 (8M cache, 4 Cores, 8 Threads, 2.80 GHz, 14nm) - $489

would be a great fit for RMBP 15, if Apple elected to use Xeon for the next upgrade.

The 950M is a 75Watt part. There is zero chance Apple sticks it in there, they dont have the cooling system for it.

I am sorry, but there is absolutely no sign of Nvidia Maxwell GPUs in OS X, that is first thing. Secondly, how you think they would be able to stick 55W GPU in 85W environment?

Maybe Nvidia GPUs are not THAT efficient as people think they are?

Stay away from the Surface Pro 4. It's great hardware, but the software is really holding it back. Microsoft has some great ideas but they are being poorly executed. W10 is still very much a beta.
It's quite sad really. Apple hasn't even been competing in recent months. Microsoft has a free chance in the competition, yet they still manage to screw up miserably.

how can razer blade fit a 960M(not 950M) into a slim 14" laptop and apple can not fit a 950M into a 15" MBP?
i think it is a mistake

750M is not on Watt par with 950M ? i mean 50Watt

Because it has 150W power supply?
750M from MBP have had clocks lowered down to maintain in the power envelope(nominal were 967 and GT750M from MBP had 925 MHz).

Maybe not just what can fit but whether they want to fit one in? At least one of the Razer Blades has two fans, so taking up a lot of space for the extra fan. e.g. 2015 MBP vs 2014 Razer. Would Apple want vents on the bottom of the case, and an extra fan... Or just give a weaker GPU, and now have the option to do eGPU in a dock/chassis?

I'm pleasantly surprised at the news of the Skylake-HQ parts with Iris Pro 580 releasing. Yes, this certainly eliminates the external dependency on the 15" MBP . I'm just curious as to why it did not yet show up on the Ark/Intel site. However, PCworld and Anandtech both suggest the new parts aren't merely announced, but are launched and shipping in limited quantities. If that's true, then the only thing Apple needs from Intel is sufficient volume. Of course, there may also be a design update, but that is an internal Apple dependency; the new chips eliminate their external dependency upon Intel.

Different internals and acoustics. Razer designed their laptop to run hotter and louder, with a smaller battery. Which is totally fine, but not what Apple does. Apple has never used a GPU higher than 50 watts (officially, they usually underclock them so their even lower) and the 950M is 75watts, so no luck.,

In theory, if Apple have underclock/undervolt GPU in the past like the 750m before, then they should be able to do the same to the 950m. However knowing Apple and how powerful the intel 580 graphic is, they might elect to skip dGPU altogether and just stick with iGPU (and maybe with an optional eGPU over TB3. One can hope :D)

950M is 50W and apple can also under clock it so? but nvm with HD580 on par with 950M whats the point of a dGPU
