Does anyone remember the lashing that some guy got on a front page thread where he questioned why some users usage and said that no one really needs more than 8 GB of RAM? There was about 8 pages of disgust.
Just wait. Once Apple proclaim everyone needs eGPU, they will instantly need it. And will explain us they needed it before we were born (i. e. always).

Hahaha. Man, I think you've never talked with any professional whose computations can be offloaded to GPU.
[doublepost=1454464268][/doublepost]$200-300 for enclosure
Oh just want to see 200$ (still expensive) enclousure that allows you to plugin gtx970 :) And why professionals that use gpu for 3d rendering should have use os x, buy macbook pro and enclousre for eGPU? :d

Should? Are you illiterate? no one said professionals "should" use eGpu for their work. The point is people who mainly use mbp for their work will have an option to use eGpu to get more things done faster.

Hmm thats why j1104638 hopes there will be no dGPU on macbook pro 2500$ and 3000$ edition ? :)

200$ (still expensive)
Buy iMac you've recommended instead. It's just $1799.

It allows to plug in any GPU.

You're kidding right? You know OS X is the primary platform for some popular video and photo editing software, don't you? Why do you think Apple has Mac Pros for years?
Besides no one restricts you to install Windows or even Linux if you wish. No one will condemn you.

You're straight up lying. I've never said this.

You are illiterate. First of all "hoping" something to happen and saying that someone "should" use this and this is a different term. Also, your logic makes no sense

But you couldn't explain what did you mean when you said you just wish that apple choose eGPU :) 970gtx needs quite strong powersuply that also cost so you have to probably forget about 200$ enclosure for 970gtx. Buying 2500$ laptop, ridiculous expensive enclosure and dGPU and use linux for work? Thats pure madness :D

Oh common, not everybody is form England or USA, belive this? :D

Im not from USA or England too. Stop b****ing
Also, upcoming egpu docks supports gpus like gtx 980 without an external psu. Also, you wouldn't buy a 15 inch model with dgpu when you are obviously going to get an egpu dock. Try to think straight

That is why I've put $200-300 price tag.

Ah fanboy. Hello. Long time no see.
I use that what is most suitable under certain circumstances.

Logic is restricted in your country?

He can't even explain his logic correctly. Why would u get the most expensive model when you know that you are going to get an egpu. seriously..

970gtx is most expensive gpu? You are a real expert :D

Quick question, would a tb3 -> eGPU chassis be able to run todays modern graphics cards at full speed? Ive been assuming not due to bandwidth limitations, but will this no longer be a factor soon?

Ive been reading the thread, but this isn't so clear to me. Thanks!

Yes. Up to the most powerful.

How do you know? Been there much? :p
[doublepost=1454467748][/doublepost]I think he meant you won't get rMBP with dGPU if you're going to buy eGPU and vice versa.
So now you are hopping for dgpu in 2500$ and 3000$ macbook? Ohh I was hoping for good explanation why they shouldn't have any :D

Man improve your English please. It seems you don't understand a lot of posts. I'm serious. No smiles.

Ok I see you have very good argument that there is a point in buying 2000$ macbook pro with expensive enclosure and eGpu. My english :D

Yes. Up to the most powerful.
To add to this: even though on paper TB2 should limit current desktop GPUs a lot, gaming benchmarks show that actually the limit is barely noticeable on most of them and becomes somewhat noticeable only on the most-most powerful ones. TB3 removes the limit even on paper.
Another major issue is hot-plug. As I understand TB3 won't bring any hardware improvements over TB2 for hot-plug to work better. This is purely software-related.
