Last post from you that I remember is something about that 500$ for empty enclosure for graphic card that you have to pay is not suprising price :D Please, just buy Playstation :D
Unfortunately your memory does not serve you well. Please feel free to reread last pages to enlighten yourself. :D If you want, nothing and noone stops you from buying Playstation but this is offtop here, please refrain from talking about it. :D

But probably only that doesn't require external supply (just power from pciexpress) so only gtx750ti (still stronger than future iris pro 580) but if you have pay additional 150 pounds I don't see much sense in this.

Noone makes you or us do it. Or is anyone threatening you in case you don't buy it? Do you need help? Put another smile if you do!

No one is forcing you to get one. There will be egpu docks that can handle top class GPUs without external psu (look at razer's egpu dock that was recently shown at ces ) in the near future and they will be an ideal option for people who needs more graphical processing power on their macbooks. do you think spending an extra $300~500 to use a gpu that is exponentially more powerful than the dgpu will bother a person who truly needs more juice out of their macbook?

some of this stuff should drop in price once TB3 comes since USB-C is on the scene and TB3 -> TB2 stuff adapters are about $80.

Yeah, Im not forcing you to not buy it :) It's just hilarious for me :D

Guys don't forget, Intel GDC starts March 14. Intel details Skull Canyon NUC w/ TB 3 for eGPU if you need more horsepower.

BOOM, March 15, Apple releases 4kMBP I will dub SkyBook Pro or SkullzMac using similar guts. Intel suit is on Apple's stage, says something like "we teamed up with premium partners to deliver a great gaming experience".
One can only hope.

Care to explain why?
Pricetag? :) To be honest I think is better to buy imac additionally to macbook pro 13 than buy macbook pro 15 and some external enclosuers and additional gpus or just buy simple pc if you need gpu horsepower ( or console if you want just play games).

iMac has Fusion Drive and no TB3, if it had ssd and TB3 i'd grab two.

or (since i'm out of desk space and don't need another monitor), give me a nMP for $2500, i'd buy.

You don't understand something. There is a reason why people use macbooks as their main computer. Afterall, this is a skylake mbp thread. you can buy an imac if you want. and people who have no good reason to support about their argument tend to smile alot :)

Wow. Just wow.

Advice to buy iMac (the cheapest with dGPU being $1799, and dGPU worth $200 max is quite crappy and you can't upgrade it etc) instead of buying eGPU and choosing practically any GPU to be used with practically any laptop (ok, maybe new MB will not see top-tier gaming but even Air will be boosted really well) for at least three times less the price (this year it should become even lower - four or five times less the price)... man.

I have no words. You're genius. Why haven't we thought about this marvelous financial decision earlier. Thank you!

P. S. And $1799 is the crappiest iMac to be fair. I like to have at least 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD which makes it at least $2499... and the dGPU is still crap.

I hope the guy don't imply to buy iMac instead of rMBP. Because, well, you know, iMac won't fit in my backpack.

500$(or more if from apple) enclosure + 500$ dGPU + how much you spend for monitor ? Probably want to buy apple thunderbolt monitor? :D (and this looks like **** together) Just explain me why do you need this gpu horspowe and OS X system ? :)

But you probably want to connect apple thunderbolt monitor? :D Just explain me why do you need this gpu horspowe and OS X system ? :)

You never thought that there are many people who use macs for video editing, 3d rendering, or any graphic-intensive tasks?

I won't bother you with explanation about computations accelerated by top-tier GPU to be used in a lot of professional software... there are games on OS X. And there is always bootcamp to play even more games.

Moreover (you'd be ashamed with these people!) there are those who blaspheme and install Linux on Mac.

Oh pfff. As if the laptop was named "Pro".

Yeah and they did this all using m370 and couldn't wait for this days of external gpus and macbook pro :D

1. eGpu dock will be a lot cheaper (there is already one) when TB3 become commercialized.
2. A $300 gpu (i.e. gtx 970) or even $200 will still be outperform dgpus in the macbook.
3. You don't have to use a thunderbolt display to use eGpu. There are many great 4k monitors at a cheap price compared to apple's tb display

Hahaha. Man, I think you've never talked with any professional whose computations can be offloaded to GPU.

$200-300 for enclosure + any price for dGPU (you may even install the same crappy dGPU that is used in iMac for approx. $200). And you can upgrade it whenever you want and use your MacBook for years. Or vice versa.

Does anyone remember the lashing that some guy got on a front page thread where he questioned why some users usage and said that no one really needs more than 8 GB of RAM? There was about 8 pages of disgust.
