I don't believe this is correct, the only thing we new was that a 12" computer was in the works. For all you that are "no leaks means wwdc 2016" Here's a 2015 time line leading up to the March event:
2015
So as far as I can tell no information leaked regarding the 13" MacBook Pro until 3 days before the event, even with the addition of a force touch trackpad. Outside of the 12" MacBook the only leak regarding the MacBook Air update was 5 days before the event. And the rumor regarding the 12" MacBook Air launching at wwdc was false.

The cat was most definitely in the bag

I'm gona print your coment, frame it, put some candles and hang it on my room until March event.

:D

I assumed it would be June ever since I read this rumor back in November https://www.macrumors.com/2015/11/30/thinner-macbook-air-13-15-wwdc-2016/

Really hoping its March though
You assumed based on the rumor that talks about a MacBook Air @ WWDC and where at the bottom of the article says

"Economic Daily News has a hit-or-miss track record with Apple rumors, so caution should be observed with today's claims until or unless other supporting rumors surface in the coming months."

All the rumors last year pointed to MacBook airs yet the 13" pro was updated. I just feel there's a little more logic behind the chips becoming available than the article above talking about MacBook airs and have a hit or miss track record.

I am pretty sure Iris Pro 580 will surpass the 950M

the iris 550 is about as fast as the 940m, slightly slower, but in some tests 550 is beating 940m already.
Source: I own Iris 550 laptop, and tested the 940m and 950m myself, with many tests and games.

Silly reading comments from exactly a year ago, predicting a mbp refresh at WWDC 2015, maybe even including skylake for the event, some saying they'll skip broadwell (half right) and go for skylake in September, If only they knew... we're still waiting...

http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/mac/2016-macbook-pro-retina-display-release-date-new-march-3593988/

There were so so many people on this forum saying that Apple was going to skip broadwell, and release skylake MBP in 2H 2016. I told people so many times you will not see skylake MBP in 2016, but the majority of people beleived skylake for MBP would be available in 2h 2016. because the intel CEO said "skylake coming 2H 2016"

If Iris Pro 580 indeed surpasses 950M, it greatly reduces the need for dGPU. I think Apple will still offer a dGPU option with a 960M or equivalent, or they may do something entirely different and only offer workstation dGPUs (Quadro, FirePro).

Can you give us a few comparison benchmark numbers between the 940m/950m and the Iris 550 if you have time? :)

What if.. lol.. the Mac Pro (the can) gets gutted, and the tube is used to house GPUs that would work through Thunderbolt 3? Plug it in to the MacBook Pro and wham..

But.. there is the limitation of bandwidth. Perhaps a solution that Thunderbolt 4 or 5 can remedy?

If you use a dualport setup you could get 80Gbs. Thus should be enough to power a fast gpu ;).

Yea, here are some from some notes on my phone.

3DMark - SkyDiver:
940M - 5644
Iris 550 - 6248
Surface Book Nividia - 6280

Heaven Benchmark 3.0
Resolution Set to 1280x1024, and Quality Set to High
940m - 461
Iris 550 - 620
Surface Book Nvidia - 709
950m - 949 (I found this result online, not done by me)

Some Games I tested:

Bioshock Infinite (1440x900) Quality Preset to "Very High"
usual frame rates
940M - 35-40fps
Iris 550 - 25-30fps
Surface Book Nvidia - 60fps locked

Smite MOBA that I play. (1920x1200) Quality Set to High
940M - 60-70fps
Iris 550 - 70-90fps
Surface Book - 60-70fps

I could run a specific game or benchmark for you. Though I only have Iris 550 right now

Did you happen to have Diablo 3 installed? Or Tomb Raider or the sequel?

Wow thanks for the data!!
Could you possibly test the following: Heroes of the Storm, Black Desert Online, civilization beyond Earth, battlefield 4?

Thanks in advance!!

I think all this anniversary, time since last release or historical release dates and milestones is all irrelevant. Apple will release the upgrade when it feels it is most financially sound and simply when it is prepared to do so.

Sounds valid to me, nonetheless since we all got nothing to do but speculate while we wait heck why not try to find the magic pattern to predict whatever we think apple is going to do! :)

Thunderbolt 2 is enough to get us very impressive results right now with people kludging together eGPU setups. Twice the bandwidth with a single TB3 cable is probably going to be standard versus dual setups, and should still offer scalability, because bandwidth isn't a real issue right now (if I use a TB2 eGPU setup and put in a 680MX and then put in a 980, I'll get better perf from the latter—certainly not the true gains in a internal PCIe swap but noticeable.)

I think Intel has officially done it. The victory will be short lived once 14nm dGPUs roll out, but Intel's SECOND best iGPU already keeping up with Maxwell is impressive to say the least. That means even the 13" rMBP will be quite capable. Makes me even more excited for the Iris Pro 580. The 580 must be a monster.

I have to wonder how Intel's support will affect the graphics experience?
I've heard of Intel specific GPUs suffering from glitches, especially in games like Dolphin and I wouldn't be surprised if they still have problems elsewhere.

At this point I just need an update, not because I want to know, but simply because I need people to stop bumping this topic to talk about Thunderbolt and USB ports.

Yeah the lack of rumors is kind of getting annoying...

I have started brewing mead in the meantime. Kind of funny that the 1 year fermentation/ageing process is shorter than I have waited for a Skylake rMBP

So annoying. [EDIT] Oh and, we should probably pop a cask of your mead at a macrumors forums get together, once the Skylake macs launch (i think chances are good that they'll launch at the same time as your mead will become ready for consumption :p )

Me last september:
Get a rMBP now or wait until update? .. Nah wait, it'll be a couple of months tops! just wait. it'll be worth it!

A couple of months, they said. It'll be worth it, they said.

Anyone able to dig up what the invitation to 2006 MacWorld looked like?
I wasn't able to find it, would be curious if there was any hint of the "one more thing" MBP on it.
Yes I'm reaching for straws already.

"We've been working around the clock"
We suspect it's about the darned Apple Watch but actually it's sky lake MBP!
