I hope they wont update the lineup tomorrow (hardly any evidence they will) but wait till late summer/fall and give us a swivelable screen, 4TB hdd space, 32/64gb ram, 4k displays with 14", 16", 18" options, 2 or 3 regular USB3 inputs, 2 or 3 TB3 inputs, 3d touch built into the whole screen of cause.

I think that Apple needs fix the unicorn furry backcover of that MBP you're talking about, before they release it.
Oh, and also the annoying thinness of the graphene LionsLake CPU.
But hold on, it's really short coming.

Morning everyone, I gladly see we're making our best to reach page 300.
We can do it.
I'll personally follow the event with a bottle of FritzCola and a bucket of popcorns.

While we wait for that, can the strong supporter of the redesign explain to me why they want it so bad?
No fooling with you intended, I'm just curious.

edit: it's just me or even Apple is taking fool of us?
Or at least they were seriously reading this post.

High doubt that there will be anything about MBP's today. If AMD is not ready with the dGPU yet, Apple will not put an old dGPU in a machine with Skylake. I'd like to get a new MBP. I really, really would. But I'd rather wait for a redesign. The current design is old. The new bezel-less displays found on some new Windows boxes look fantastic, and shrink the overall size of the notebook some. Apple looks, well, older.
Things to consider:
Apple can spend sixty minutes on iOS crap, so I wouldn't speculate about content or how long the show needs to be.
General assumption: 70% here will wait until fall. 30% will buy today no matter what (that's why Apple is in no rush, perpetual sales no matter what the hardware looks like). The last 10% storm off to get a Windows machine only to be back months later in the next "waiting for" thread.
The LAST thing Apple wants to be bothered with is non iOS hardware. The new Mac Pro reignited the professional interest. Then Apple crapped on it by not doing a thing with it. Mac mini? Don't even go there. That could be a great little box if Apple cared. The iMacs are nice, but no upgradeability on a desktop? Who said it needed to be so thin as to delete basic ram upgrade slots (21").
So the only items needing a refresh are the Macbook Pro's, the Macbook Airs, the Mac Pro, and the Mac mini. Does that sound like a company interested in computers? Nope, but rest assured you'll get new iPhones twice a year.
"Let them eat cake" whispers Tim in his slumber. I'm an Apple fan, but I just don't know why I do it. Didn't think the kool aid was spiked but I guess so. I really wish I could go Windows but I can't. Where's that cake?

Why not just release a skylake redesigned upgrade without the dgpu? Which they can include in June. Vast majority of users will not even require the dgpu and wouldn't be willing to pay the extra cost since the iris pro will be quite good.

I had a dream about the keynote yesterday. It was so weird that I wrote it down to remember it and I just had to share it in this thread.

The first thing that I remember from my dream was that I missed the first part of the keynote. As I opened the live stream, I was very annoyed with myself because I forgot to watch it from the start.

The first thing I saw was Tim Cook talking about MacBooks. I was surprised because I didn't think they were going to update the MacBooks at this event. He said the new MacBooks had the new 6th gen Intel processors. Tim said they were updating the 15 inch, and introducing a new 16 inch MacBook Pro. Then he went backstage to get the new MBP and he held it with one hand to show it while everyone were applauding.

It was the same silver aluminum as the current MacBooks but it was very thick, at least 5 times thicker than a rMBP. I thought it was attached to a dock because the bottom part was bigger and wider than the upper part with a line going through the middle. It had a tapered design, just like the MBA. I remember I was kind of disappointed because I wanted it to be thinner and have a sleeker design.

Somehow I was standing there at the event and watching this from behind, in the audience (not on live stream) but I didn't think much about it. Tim passed the MBP on to the audience and then I saw a big, round power button with the standby symbol on it. The button was very big. It was placed in the top right corner of the trackpad covering up a big part of it. The first guy who got to see it pressed the button and the screen turned on. He then passed the MBP to the next guy and then I started to see fire coming from the keyboard but no one seemed to notice or care about it. The fire caught up and it started to burn a lot.

Someone put the MBP on the ground and then I looked at it from a closer view. I saw the fire was just burning a tape that was holding a cardboard like material in place. The fire stopped and someone took out the cardboard and suddenly there was a very big hole in the place of the keyboard and trackpad. In fact the whole MacBook was now a very large screen attached to a big empty box. It was so large I think it was close to a 40 inch TV in size and the box was at least 30 cm deep. I thought the screen was very bad quality, it looked like it had uneven backlighting (it was colored bright blue) but I remember I was thinking it had to be a 5k screen.

Then Tim came down in person and showed that the hardware was just a very thin part in the bottom of the box. The components were all colored in black. Then I started thinking why it was so big and why most of it was empty space and I wanted to ask but I just woke up and I was suddenly lying in bed staring at nothing and thinking about the madness I was dreaming about.

Maybe I've waited for too long...

I want a thinner, lower weight, space-grey , kind of bezel-free rMBP 13". And as a bonus: keyboard of RMB, fingerscanner, lots of USB-C / TB3, USB, SD-Card Reader connections.

Seriously almost at 300 guys. Hoping for something like: "Thank you all for coming. We have one more thing for you macrumors' users, reaching the 300th page is a milestone and we want to give you a reward. THE NEW MACBOOK PRO!"

If you people had to bet some hard cash regarding the skylake MBPs (at least the 13) announced or not, what would it be ?
I for sure hope it comes out, but if I had to bet, would be a no right now ...

Please make sure I LOSE Timmy !

Its is showing the same message for anything on the site of u press buy
" we cant wait to show you what we have in store " I guess they r updating the page so everything is down not something specific

Some product detail pages say "we can't wait" message, but other times it isn't until you try to "buy" it. I wonder if this is inconsistency or a hint as to which products are being updated. For example, it with the iPads, I can get product details on all but 2 iPads (iPad Air and iPad mini 2). Those 2 just go directly to the "we can't wait" message.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s as well. Accessories (under Mac & iPhone) as well?
This could be it.
Macbooks still remain the same though.

I just went to apple.com and there clicked on the announcement of the event. it took me to a page advertising the live stream and gave me the option to add the event to my calender, which I did. It really IS 2 hours long event. There MUST be more than what has been announced.

Not a bad shout, mate.

I'm quite hopefully, and excited either way... it's been a while since we've had this buzz, lets hope they don't let us down.
