The Macbook Pro 15" of 2015 can easily drive it at Full HD with 120 fps over an external Display. Even 4k with 20-30 fps is possible. ;-)

The one with no dGPU?

I know it can drive a display, but can it drive it decently, and edit 4K videos and such?

So couldn't apple just announce the laptops today and take preorders another day? hence the store not being down today?

Ah by the way:

You can expect the following things for macOS 12

- New finder options for more comfortable organizing docs and other files
- Siri Support for Macs
- New revamped Apple Maps app
- New Wallpapers
- New iCloud features.
- Improvements to the Handoff Feature.
- OLED Bar as a "shortcut-bar"
- Revamped iTunes
- Improvements to the Automator.app

At the rate they are going, they might skip it and go to Kaby Lake.
See Below :)

The Kaby Lake Chips releasing in 2016 will not be suitable for a Macbook Pro. Intel does not just release every variant of a processor family all at once. Skylake chips started coming out last year, but suitable chips for Macbook Pro have only been available for a few weeks. It is extremely likely that the same will happen with Kaby Lake.

No, it was with the AMD Radeon M370x. I dont know about the iGPU config. I know that an Iris Pro 6200 (iMac 21" Late 2015) can handle LOL easily at 60 - 120 fps on Full HD.

I hope Tim Cook is reading this topic right now...

Possibly. And for all we know, the Apple store might not need to be "down" while it is refreshed with new products. Perhaps Apple has some new technology that allows them to update the store without pulling it offline.

I'm wondering, is there another place on the internet where people like us are waiting for the new MacBook Pro, or are we the only community where everybody comes to?
Actually the people all over the world are waiting for a redesigned Macbook Pro today.
I have been waiting for two years, those were minor updates to me in 2015.
I can't wait until the fourth quarter, need a brand new rmbp 15" this summer.
However, Apple still seems to keep it veiled to us until this fall. :(
It is 14th 00:07 am here, in China, I am expecting a surprise with you guys !

kk, source?

It seems to me, that it's only been minor updates since I got my Retina MBP (end of 2012). More than anything, I just want more power - faster processor, better graphics card, an option for 32gb, etc. I can like without USB-C, Thunderbolt-3, thinner design, OLED pad etc. All that's cool, but I really just want a better computer that is portable.

well, thats pretty expected. we knew there would be beta software releases today
Very true, but I would've thought if we were going to see hardware as well today, the main store bit would be down too.

I guess it doesn't really mean much, as we may still see an announcement without release.
(straws... grasping...)

should've invested in the straw industry 2 years ago if we knew this would happen... maybe then we'd have enough money to afford the outlandish price Apple will slap on these notebooks when they do come. :(
