If they announce a display, there have to be computers to go along with it that can power it (since that display-with-GPU idea was completely discredited).

I'm wondering, is there another place on the internet where people like us are waiting for the new MacBook Pro, or are we the only community where everybody comes to?

Yeah, I agree. Right now, the more uninformed will go and buy a MBP, as they won't have a clue about how old it is. I've been discouraging people, but most have no idea. But if Apple pre-announces it by more than a month or two, it would seriously harm their sales, as the MBP page on their website would be "look at this amazing thing coming soon!!". So I don't see them pre-announcing it for a Q4 release... but I also don't see them announcing it in September, as that's the iPhone 7/Watch 2/iPad Pro 2 time. So I just don't know what they're doing... I just hope we won't be waiting until March 2017, as that seems like the next stage event without any dominating announcements so far.
Doesn't 9to5mac have a community too?
Honest question.
They do have a community, but I really don't like their website. Am I the only one? It's too cluttered...Doesn't 9to5mac have a community too?

He's far too busy lining up all the revolutionary watch bands. Each one woven from individual strands of the aurora borealisI hope Tim Cook is reading this topic right now...
And rMBP basic models are available for pickup or delivery on Wednesday which is just as normal in the Netherlands. My expectations are now digging a hole in the basement.

On a pop music forum I frequent there is a strangely similar thread about Britney Spears' new album which is almost certainly coming. I howled when someone there used the phrase "well respected insider".I'm wondering, is there another place on the internet where people like us are waiting for the new MacBook Pro, or are we the only community where everybody comes to?
If anyone can, Apple can... if you can make a watch band out of the interaction between solar storms and the earth's magnetic field, i'll buy that s*** RIGHT quick.

Yeah. And the bands contain the tears of weeping MacRumors visitors.
I've been lurking this thread for a long time now and have waited too long for Skylake. If we don't get any announcement I might just buy baseline 15".
Can anybody tell me if baseline 15" withOUT the dGPU will be okay to edit 4K videos?
I don't think so. I think the iGPU in the 15'' is worse than the one in the 13'' at the moment.
I'd stay away from that.
As far as I'm concerned, if no Mac's are presented today I'm really divided between going for the top 15'' or going for a Dell XPS.
I don't care that much for the new CPU's and all, I'm just waiting because I wanted a little more oomph out of the GPU side of the Mac. I know Mac's are not designed for gaming but I would like to be able to do the ocasional game of CSGO/League of Legends, at 60+ fps on max settings. Don't really know if the R9 M370X can work with that.
If real life is like the Michael Fassbender Steve Jobs movie, he'll be reading it whilst having some furious snappy debate with a beleaguered underling.I hope Tim Cook is reading this topic right now...
