Damn, can't believe it's been around 300 pages (Yes, measurements of pages instead of time) that I've been in here. If the new MacBook Pro's are truly announced at WWDC, it's been a nice run, ya'll. But if (Expectedly) we're looking forward to the fall event, I'll see you guys back here o_O

They are so on the road to f***k customers' mind, that I'm starting believe that if (and it's a big "if") they're going to release anything, the store will be closed just 30sec before the announcement

Picking up my macbook pro late 2011 from apple today - dGPU died last week. Im secretly hoping they could not fix it for some crazy reason and I'll walk in and be presented with a new 2015 rMBP... I've replaced the LCD, memory and HDD --> SSD in this thing, so its basically a brand new computer now (alas still at 2011 specs).

I want to believe... really that today is our day. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst...

Also want to share the insanity of this thread -- there is a 'rule' in web development/online communities that says

90% of users are lurkers... just consume content
9% of users are light contributors - i.e. 'hit a like button' and
1% of users are true 'contributors'...

So if this epic thread holds to those numbers, while we have ~ 20K replies (that represent the 1%), we really have an army of people REALLY interested in this next macbook pro. That doesn't even account for the non-obsessed people who don't macrumor at all...

We're at just over 16k replies, and if you assume that each person averages 10 posts in this thread, that leaves us with just 1600 people (seems reasonable to me). Even if every single one of us will be buying a new MBP, it's just a small drop in the bucket compared to what Apple expects will be ordered/sold. I'm sorry to say, but we mean nothing to Apple.

I got tired of waiting and bought an Alienware 17 instead, 2 months without a laptop since my late 2013 rmbp was stolen is too much for me

but I'm still curious with the outcome of the new mbp. I'm still interested in getting a mac in the future so it all depends on how Apple carry it from here

Not going to think about that until after the event is over. Happy Thoughts! Happy Thoughts!
Keeping my fingers crossed. I (and I'm sure most people here) would take an announcement tonight even if it didn't start shipping until October-ish. At least then we'd know! All this uncertainty is killing me...

I'm almost convinced there will be nothing, but still cannot find any valid reason for that, so still a bit of hope ..
But very little, alas :(

It's been so long now.. starting to feel like who cares. I just hope their event is great, because a repeat of how bad March was will be very disappointing.

Apple store is not down. If there would be any hardware announcements it would already be down.

That's all I need to know at this time - either something is dropping or it's not. I don't believe I've been waiting so damn long on this thread... I'm just dying for the new Kanye West watch bands... everytime it hears Taylor Swift it turns your wrist black and blue.... or the Jay-Z watch band "I got 99 problems but a new rMBP aint one"

People are still buying cMBPs which is sad.
Are they though? I don't think Apple publishes the numbers. I'd love to know them. I'm especially curious of the rMB sales versus Air.

I want to buy a laptop that Apple does not produce at the moment, so it's easy for me to wait, but I'd appreciate if that wait ended before 2019.

Oh, and I saw someone mention XCode development on iPad Pros. That would be a nail into Mac coffin. One of the reasons Macs exist is so developers can use them to write software for OS X. If that is no longer the case we'll be left with rose gold Macbook and Core m7 5400rpm Kanye West Design iMacs starting at $1999.

Ugh, the front page right now. I don't give a rat's ass about the damn blue iPhone. Why does Apple think changing colors is "innovation" now? Yeah, more pink products--that'll keep Apple sales high and faith in their company and ability to innovate alive.

So I completely just had my worst nightmare. Woke up from a dream in which WWDC was 10 minutes away (in the dream, I actually looked over at the digital clock and saw "9:49" in big glowing red numbers) only to find out my Windows desktop (the only real computer I have right now) completely dismantled. The monitor had been unhooked, the mouse and keyboard had no batteries in them...and I was panicking and trying to get everything set up before the event, but clearly failing. Then I woke up and realized it was before 8. Huge sigh of relief :D

So obviously I'm still excited even if I'm expecting the worst.

Why on earth would Apple announce the flagship or their MacBooks today if they were going to supply them in August or even October??? Have Apple ever even made such announcements? Maybe within one month or 2 weeks prior the real launch. If they would indeed announce the new MBP today and say: "These boys are coming out in the Fall!!", their Mac sales would go even more down. That would be a very stupid move.

Yes I am with you, they should get the Macs out very soon because the sales are already hurting but we haven't seen many parts/leaks from the new MBP. And they try many prototypes prior to the final product. We've sometimes seen some genuine parts of e.g a new iPhone months before they were out. Not much this time. They start the production early because they need to ship and deliver new products for a worldwide launch and with an overhaul like we're expecting I'm pretty sure we would've seen more already.

But they have a strange timing if they are holding out everything to the fall. Announcement with iPhone 7 is not realistic because not many can afford to buy both. October launch is already very late, especially if they would be powered by Skylakes.

Yeah, I agree. Right now, the more uninformed will go and buy a MBP, as they won't have a clue about how old it is. I've been discouraging people, but most have no idea. But if Apple pre-announces it by more than a month or two, it would seriously harm their sales, as the MBP page on their website would be "look at this amazing thing coming soon!!". So I don't see them pre-announcing it for a Q4 release... but I also don't see them announcing it in September, as that's the iPhone 7/Watch 2/iPad Pro 2 time. So I just don't know what they're doing... I just hope we won't be waiting until March 2017, as that seems like the next stage event without any dominating announcements so far.
