Today the Dell Service Technician arrived, replaced the Trackpad/Front-Unit and left our facility one hour later.

The Trackpad and all the Precision 5510 is now working as it should.
It was a hardware problem and that can happen with every hardware, even from Apple.

Now no Problems in Windows booted from the PCIE SSD, nor in Linux (booted from the SATA SSD), nor using VM's.

So if you buy Dell, buy the Pro-Services to, it is much easier and better then carrying the Machine to a Service - Center.

I have to say "awsome" ( btw. thats the word ...-) service, If the Problems returns I will inform you.

With this Wolfe eGPU, if it's compatible with my 2012 MBP (https://thewolfe.io/faq/), why have there not been eGPUs available before, even from Apple? Or have there?

Was wondering the same. Someone in here posted a thread about a DIY eGPU enclosure, but i think the I/O is quite touch-and-go. i guess the Wolfe eGPU cases solve that issue? i'd love input from someone in the know!

eGPU has been available for a while now , Wolfe just trying to put some sex appeal on it which makes sense. Average joe won't or can't source TB/PCIe enclosures, Mac compatible GPU and atx power supplies. If they can make the Mac experience seamless (right now it's a lot of trial and error, gpu modding and Kext hacking with a few automated tools) it could be a hit. Then again if os Sierra includes eGPU support (like, plug and play, pref panes and everything) then we could see a whole wave of eGPU kits.

It's odd that they're offering gtx 1060 support, but there are no web drivers available for 10x0 cards. Works fine in Windows, obviously.

When was the last time we were not disappointed? :D

Good point.

To be fair, I was going to point out earlier that the March event invites went out at 10am PST but didn't want to get anyone's hopes up.

Either it's not on September 7, or the invites go out closer to the event, or they come out later today. Whatever...

And then the invite says: "Let's Band Together" and everyone freaks out about Watch bands, but in reality they're referring to the antenna bands on the iPhone 6.3 plus music videos on Apple Music.

Thanks. I hadn't heard of eGPUs before this thread! It's very relevant to me as I'm a video editor using Davinci Resolve which relies on the GPU. It has started crashing a lot and their support tell me it's because I've only got 1GB VRAM on my dGPU.

I'm really wavering between an iMac (got to wait for the next one right?) and what we're all waiting for. Either would be fine for now, but I'm thinking ahead 4 years. Getting something like the Wolfe could help me now with current machine.

honestly eGPU support would be the smartest thing for apple to do because it frees them up to make the laptop lighter, cooler, cheaper, and smaller without crippling the power-user too much.
