no invites ?
Might take a few minutes before someone who got one posts about it. I'd give it a

They say "Nothing confirmed yet" however they point now to September 6, while before (week ago?) it said just 'September' or Q4 or so... I hadn't heard September 6 before? anyone?
I think that has said September 6th for quite a while. Don't know why they think it's the 6th though. Maybe because it's Tuesday and most events are on Tuesdays.

In recent history, with the exception of the hardware event in October of 2014, each invite came Wednesday or Thursday, just shy of two weeks prior to the event.

They're making even the event invites thinner.
Apple will send them the day after the event.

Well, the "good" news is, any delay makes it more likely we can "celebrate" the 500 days anniversary of the current rMBP and/or the 1000 page milestone of this thread…

Regarding that; hitting 1000 pages before september 7 is getting increasingly unlikely. So is september 7 as the day of the event...

Is the consensus that there won't be quad core Skylake parts released for the 15" this year?

To be honest if the current 15" had 14nm Broadwell I would just buy it no questions asked and take advantage of the back to school offer. However I am worried about missing out on potential efficiency/heat/battery life improvements in the move to 14nm.

The ole 2010 XPS stopped opening programs. I have to click 4-5 times now for some reason.

It's hard to tell because I'm so used to clicking Chrome or Lightroom, browsing my phone (mostly this thread) for 5 minutes and then returning to the laptop when the program is finally open. It's made me a very patient person.

I think I watched a whole episode of Pokemon while waiting for it to restart yesterday.

And no, I haven't put in an SSD. At this point, it's not worth the trouble.

My little, frustrated contribution to the 1000 page parade.

Hang in there guys/gals... one day salvation will come (alien invasion offering us all free Zaxxon Laptop Unobtanium Pro's)...
