All Macbook Air and Pro BTO models have a delivery date of Sept. 20th or later.

The updates are finally happening.

It takes courage. The courage to carry around 3 different dongles for ports that were previously standard...
I can accept USB C 3.1 on the rMB where there is no space for other ports; a notebook that was designed for ultimate portability. But anything just a little bit larger, such as the MacBook Air, has enough space for useful ports. All the USB 3.0 devices will stay for some more years, and HDMI is needed for presentations at many places. Let others be bold enough to start the revolution with USB C 3.1. I will gladly join them in a couple of years, if USB C 3.1 really takes over the world. Only now I have 2 Thunderbolt 2.0 devices; and when was this "standard" introduced? When my current iMac dies (it's a mid 2011) I can through these away or buy an expensive adapter. By the way, my ASUS Zenbook Pro 15" already has an USB C 3.1 port (that I never used) in addition to all the "legacy" ports that I use daily.

I say let the USB-C come. Someone must be the first one to go. I'm happy to bring one adapter with me everywhere. And all the other people look really outdated with their large old USB's. ;)

Yep. I type for a living. Not a problem. I also have several mechanical keyboards using Alps white, Alps beige, Matias QC and Clicky switches, Zealios, Cherry blue, Gateron blue and Cherry brown. And Topre of course.

I know typing. That keyboard is not as bad as you're making it out to be.
Well I think it is, and that's my opinion. :)

Yeah October, I watched the whole keynote thinking maybe a Retina MacBook Pro, right? But I had no idea during the keynote I would have to be doing my budget for AirPods in October. I mean like while I was watching looking for that silly rMBP2016, the AirPods came by and I was yeah that's cool.

But now every second of my waking life I am like, "god I can't wait to get these AirPods with Bluetooth 4.2+ and that god damn W1 chip I am like WTF?

I have loved audio since before my Sony MD players and Snow Boarding, and I am like holy $#!+ it's going down in October with these AirPods...

I know most of you will be looking forward to your MacBooks, but I got my rMBP 15/15 so I am cool.

But yeah Apple out of freaking left field was like oh btw (kinda like a one more thing type of thing) saying here are these disgusting BlueTooth HeadPhones, with what I have heard is AAC compression for my audio...gees this gonna be like uh oh

Hope they're hear before Halloween... (here pun intended, if that even is a pun)

What macbook pros are you guys on?

I have a mid 2010 13 inch and i cant even watch 720 60fps videos on youtube without lagging

I'm using the exact same machine and it handles Youtube fine up to 1080p at 60fps! I mean yeah it turns into a pretty decent space heater for my room, but it plays it.

What kind of specs do you have?
Mine is 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo with 8 gb ram and NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

(Mid) 2010 17" MBP.
Cannot play 1080p YT videos unless I close most every tab. 720p 60 works ok though.
Save for the expresscard its very limiting, I can eek out half speed USB 3.0 :( using an external card, but the card slot shuts off when the machine goes to sleep, so my drives disconnect each time. I get beach balls pretty regularly, you'd think my mac were perpetually on Spring Break. Atleast twice a day. Fast Intel SSD SATA-III hooked right up to the pokey old SATA-II HDD slot, same for optibay, so half perf there too.

The 2011 mbp (some) were pretty revolutionary, they got
-faster processors (obviously)
-thunderbolt v1
-expresscard v2 (17")
-16 GBs
-CPU HW Video Decode
-SATA-III

I wanted to buy a 2015, was getting ready to, but then I heard about the wonderful world of USB-C and had to get in on the action. That way, I could just completely skip TB1/TB2 go straight to the top with TB3.

I know man the wait is killing me

But just think how much faster the new mbp will be compared to our current ones :D

I am not on any MAC... mine is dead and I am confined to a windows machine I could borrow from my family
Hopefully in a month you can go back to using a mac!

Same processor, graphics and RAM as you. It came with 4GB but I put in 8GB and an SSD.
I have no clue why mine is slow then lol. Are you on el capitan?

Yeah I always update to whatever's latest. Never had any real issues to be honest. I've got to admit considering it's a Core 2 Duo chip I'm impressed how it handles 6 years on. The case is battered to **** and the battery is now below 80% health on ~950 cycles, but it handles everything I do, just a little slower than I'd like.

Having said that I've been playing around with a 2015 13" Pro and it is a lot snappier even at basic stuff and it allows me to play light titles. Most I can get out of my 2010 is Portal 2 at medium settings and it absolutely screams at me!

Edit: I guess I'd sum it up by saying I'd be happy to give it to a family member who just needs it to play YouTube, Netflix and check Facebook etc. But I want more now.
