The car will also be guided by Apple maps, sending it to the bottom of a lake instead of taking you home. After you're $900,000,000 car sinks to the bottom, you'll push the only button in the car to ring Apple support. While asking them to remotely let you out of the car, they'll inform you that your support has been terminated due to activation of the water / moisture sensors.

No, they'll first ask you if you would like to pay $1,000,000 for 3 months of Applecare before they terminate the car. If you pay it they'll get a genius to come and look at the car.

You'll suffocate while they do but hey, at least the car is waterproof!

Word is Microsoft next Surface Pro and Book will have Kaby Lake in Spring 2017. Maybe, just maybe, Kaby Lake will make it to a rMBP around the same timeframe.

Apple's earnings call, just concluded, is distressing. Not a single mention of the Mac.

Unless Intel is suddenly changing their roadmap to put their higher-end iGPU models at priority, this thread won't be a thing until much later, unfortunately :(

You mean like what happened when the Skylake thread was started... back in 2013? hahaha

Oh boy! Let's see if this can catch up to the Skylake thread.

I'm glad I picked up the rMB, because this continued wait would be killing me.

September, Apple will announce their best ever laptop, featuring a Intel 80286 processor, starting at only $2,000 with high performance CGA Graphics.

KabyLake.. if its the same as Skylake.. you'll be waiting another 12 months plus.

The old Skylake thread has been dragging on for nearly three long years. Skylake is old news nowadays, the release of Kaby Lake has made sure of that. By the time the Holiday buying season arrives, any new laptop, especially one considered a 'flagship' laptop (i.e. MBP), with only a Skylake processor, will already seem very outdated.

We need to drop this mindset. The processor they put in the newly redesigned MBP is the least important thing about it. It's going to come with innovations across many other areas; a computer isn't just a processor and whichever one they put in it will be sufficient.

MacBook chips were available in September of 2015 and the machine didn't come out until April. It's still a great machine.

The higher-powered chips suitable for the rMBP won't be available by the holiday season.

So you're saying we will get that Skylake update this winter after all.

I've been waiting since 1977, Pushing that little 6502 to its limits. I thought I heard it groan something about a crabby lake. I thought it just wanted something cold to cool it down. Now I know what it was trying to say... Ohhhh... Kaby Lake :D
