Waking up with the iPhone alarms

Does anyone rely on the iPhone alarm for waking up in the morning? Does it work well ie loud enough? Can you assign a ringtone or song instead of the build in sounds?

Sometimes when I'm on the road i rely on my cell phone to wake me up. It works great. Just checking on the iPhone 3G for this.

I use "Eye of the Tiger", Rocky theme song for my iPhone alarm.

i cant see why we're not able to set the alarm to play songs from the ipod part of the iphone, its really annoying ive got thousands of songs on there and can only use the 2 ive managed to convert into ringtones!! with the old style ipods we could have the alarm play playlists and everything!

Am i missing something or is this really not included?

make your own ringtones and set those to the alarm i wake up to mision impossible on saturdays Hit that (offspring) on sundays and know your enemy on weekdays its great all wakes me up i but i just turn it off and go back to sleep

I've only had my phone for about a week, but I have been using it as my alarm clock, I'm using the old ringer for my alarm, the alarm one was alittle to loud and as I have to get up at 5:30 a couple days a week, and my fiance does not want to wake up that early, to the sounds of WWIII warning sirens.

the iPhone is my only alarm. i use a ringtone which is a song converted in iTunes. it is awesome.

Thats exactly what I do. I wake up to Bob Marley "Jammin" every morning.
