The store near me (Happy Valley - Portland, OR) didn't have any :( There were a few people there hoping to get one and we waited until about 12:30 until they told us they definitely didn't have any.

Walmart, Venice FL

i got in line last night at 10pm. Huge crowd, I was number 3 in line. :p At Midnight there was 8 of us. There are 5 iPads per case. They had 1 box of white 16, 1 box of black 32's and one box of 64 black's.

So they sold out of the 32's, they sold one 16 and two 64. All devices were Wifi only.

S if you are close to Venice they may have a few left.

I went to four wal-marts in the st Petersburg - Bradenton florida market. Three got five units--all 16gb--and sol out. The fourth store had 15 units expected, including four 64gb model, but couldn't find them. Just before 12:30 they told us they'd found notification the shipment hadn't been received, but we could come again and queue up in the morning. A few minutes later they agreed to hold units for the four People who had waited.

Only iPad2's at my local Wal-Mart. Needed to stop in for a few other items this morning so I figured that I'd take a look. The guy working at electronics said that they haven't gotten any of the new model yet. Ah well, I was going to wait to buy one anyway.

Wal Mart or no, I got my iPad

Here's my experience. I couldn't get any time off to go to the Apple store, and I couldn't have mine delivered because I'm never home during the day and I've had packages stolen off my porch before. So that's not an option.

After seeing this post last night, I decided to give my local Wal Mart a try. I got there about 20 minutes prior to midnight. There were 7 or 8 people in line in front of me. The employees obviously had no idea what they were selling. One was a young guy, late 20's, who didn't seem to care about tech at all. I got the feeling he was asked to just stand around and help out, but one guy was asking him questions about the different models, and all he knew was that there was a difference in gigabytes. He didn't know what gigabytes were and didn't seem interested, but he knew there was a difference.

The woman who was running the show seemed nice enough, but a little frazzled. She was in contact with someone on a headset and was asking what she should be selling with the iPads. They were telling her to sell us iTunes gift cards, screen protectors, and cases. I know this because she seemed to be having trouble hearing them, and kept repeating it loudly to make sure she was clear.

The iPads were stacked in a shopping cart behind the register. They had cards printed up matching each of the models they had in stock (someone in line said he heard they had a total of 25). By the time I got there, they had a couple AT&T Black 32's, I think 2 Wifi Black 32s, and I think 3 or 4 Wifi Black 16's. A few people got in line right at midnight and I guess picked up whatever was left.

By the time they got the register set up and started ringing people up, it was a couple minutes after midnight. It was smooth sailing from there on. You handed your card to the guy who found your designated iPad. Then the lady rang you up. I didn't see them try to upsell on protection or covers or any of that. It was just like checking out a supermarket. I was out of there with my AT&T Black 32GB by about 12:10.

Picked mine up at the Locust, NC Walmart this morning at around 9:30. Still had about 3 or so left.

guys, i have gone to multiple Appl store launch (iPhone 1st gen, iPhone 3gs, iPad first gen, iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S) and I must tell you I have never experienced a better launch purchase than Walmart last night. I walked in around 9:15pm and saw about 30 people waiting in line on bar stools near electronic section. They gave out tickets and ran out about after 48 people, so I know for sure the union city walmart had around 48, much more than what other people reported on here from other cities. Anyway, I was out by 12:40am w/ two in hand (someone else came w/ me). a lot of employees and management were there. with place to sit and a warm indoor space, it was the most comfortable and quick experience. it really beats sleeping on the sidewalk in the cold!
p.s. i do have a day job and already pre-ordered my iPad online. i was buying a few more for gifts.

Walked into my Amherst, NY Walmart at 11:00 am.
Asked if they had any iPads left.
Worker asked if I wanted the 16gb Wi/Fi Black or White.
I picked black.
Paid.
Left.

Well yeah, Target stores have every model in stock (att and vzw) plus all the wifi models. The 16gb wifi is the least in-demand according to my friend at the Apple store. It's 10am here on the west coast and he's reporting they still have a line around the side of the mall. Apparently the largest stores got several pallets with "massive quantities" so looks like there may not be the supply constraints previous models have seen.

As in have been dissected an LTE iPad over the past several hours.

Oh, wait. We cannot correct people who don't proofread their typing / comments, even (or especially) writers / editors who went to college.

Maybe this will be my last post here.

I'm sorry, what happened?

everyone know at least one person who buys stuff for the attention

It's always funny how poor people always say money doesn't buy happiness, which the rich people seem pretty happy on their private jets and luxury yachts.

I'm fairly certain it doesn't take a scientist to realize the direct correlation between money, and happiness.
