Few in Phoenix?

I went to a Walmart in Mesa at 10:00. No line. Electronics clerked acted somewhat dumbfounded and said they never got a shipment today. Called other Walmarts in the Phoenix area and those that answered either acted surprised or only have 5 to sell.

Just got back from walmart with a a new black ipad 32 gb wifi. They had a total of 25 various models and there were only 3 of us in line.

I tend to do most of my shopping around this hour because of my work schedule. Sadly walmart is one of my only options. There were maybe 10 people there tonight at 11:50 waiting to buy a new iPad. No joke- the checkout line up front was way longer than the line in electronics.

Best part was the walmart employee loosing his cool (over what?) and screaming at a customer about how Apple controls the time/prices/etc.

Every time I go in to a walmart I hate myself more. Worst associates I've ever seen. You hate your job? Cool story, bro, so does FREAKING EVERYONE ELSE.

I went to my Walmart at 11:30...nobody was there except me and another guy. The people acted like they had no idea there was a new iPad coming out. Manager said he had no email about a midnight sale. And the electronics lady said she had no record of them being in their system....Pissed me off. Guess I'll try my luck at AT&T, Verizon, and Apple tomorrow morning.

I ran into that at one Walmart... they are idiots. The other Walmart I went to was sold out and the third one was a charm!

Best part was when the one Walmart employee walked by, looked at the line of mostly 20 and 30-something year old guys and asked, "New Twilight book being released?"

There was only a few people at my walmart, but by the end the line was full and some people were turned away. They had only 20 units total, 16GB in WiFi and 4G and the other capacities in 4G only.

I should've known they were only selling the wifi-only models. I'm wanting 4G so it would've been a waste for me anyways but I felt bad for the other guy who just wanted a 16gb wifi model. Luckily, my town isn't too "aware" about Apple products. Shouldn't have too much trouble at my local retail stores tomorrow other than Apple.

I went to four wal-marts in the st Petersburg - Bradenton florida market. Three got five units--all 16gb--and sol out. The fourth store had 15 units expected, including four 64gb model, but couldn't find them. Just before 12:30 they told us they'd found notification the shipment hadn't been received, but we could come again and queue up in the morning. A few minutes later they agreed to hold units for the four People who had waited.

After my walmart letdown I actually decided to drive over to Apple, curious to see if any people were camping out overnight. I saw like 15 people, but turned out they were all Apple employees in street clothes prepping the store for tomorrow. They were actually hooking up display models. Man, that retina display is a beauty.

Went to 3 walmarts in the DFW area. First one had 3 people in line including myself. Got there at 11:30. No one else ever lined up. Took about 5 minutes after 12:00 to get out. Other 2 walmarts had no people in line and had boxes of each flavor. The only disappointment is none of the 3 had any white iPads shipped to them. Was hoping to snag a AT&T 16GB white.

I'm number one in line in an Alaskan WalMart---the same one I purchased and waited in line for with the iPad 2--of which they had 4 dozen in stock on launch day. They ran the gamet of storage and 3G/wifi only models.

We are four hours earlier than east coast time so I've got a while to wait. Bit I'm excited. Could've easily purchased on launch day but the waiting in line thing was a blast last time--met a ton of cool people

I don't care about the size so I've not inquired about the stash they've got this time around...but as I mentioned, with the iPad 2--they had 50 of them...spanning the range of the sizes and radios!

It's now almost ten o'clock and there's three of us in line. We've heard they have a few of each at this point

I am from chandler,az. Some of the Walmart around me didn't get any, and the ones who got them had only 5, and already people are lining up for it. Loos like Phoenix area stores got only max 5.

Walmart in Houston

Westheimer and Kirkwood store

They had 10 units in total. Good mix of all models.

I was #9 in line and they had one 32GB 4G and one 64GB 4G remaining.

I purchased the 64GB 4G Black.

First in line at the Walmart in Franklin, WI. They had 5 16GB white units and 5 white 64GB AT&T for $829.99. The line was 20 deep, I tried to be helpful and let people know after the 5th that they only had the $829s left but they didn't believe us so they waited for over a hour for nothing LOL.

Stumped at Walmart's ignorance

Jaykk......I'm here in Mesa and all the ones I call act stumped. I actually went to the one at Baseline and Country Club and they said they got none. I'm wondering if these folks are even bothering to actually look. I finally had one guy on the phone who just came on shift and after I clued him in on all the details of how the company he works for is supposed to start selling them at 12:01 he turned out to be a nice guy who said he's going to check into it and even look for my requested model specifically and call me back. Strange even his manager said......Yeah....seems I heard something about that.

I know, some of the employees have no clue. But they are getting more calls, as soon as I asked for electronics store, they told me they didn't get any.

I guess I will try my luck @ apple store in the morning (Chandler fashion center or Gilbert).

Oh my God, this retina display is absolutely gorgeous. Using the voice dictation to type this message.

Whats up with Texas stores having huge lines? Seems like everywhere else had no lines or very short lines.

Got mine easily. Showed up at 6 PM and got my name on a list. They only received five iPads, but I was the first on the list so I didn't sweat it. The employees were on top of things and knew what they were doing. Guess I got lucky.

Got it

Imwasnt going to get mine there I has one at the local college book store reserved but I thought I would swing by and got one.

Sent from my "new" iPad. :apple:

Crap, just realized this is the AT&T model and I need the Verizon model.

If anyone in Houston has a 64GB Verizon that they want to trade, let me know.

came to walmart looking for a Verizon model but they only have AT&T. got in line anyway, and i don't know what to do.
