My opinion: both work fine for you. Just need to decide if you would rather be stylish or techy. I'd probably go for the smaller one if I could pull it off.

I think the 42mm fits you better. The 38 mm looks too small to me on your wrist

It is so hard to decided whats going to best in daily workings without HAVING it.

I ordered the 38mm tonight, so if it doesnt work I have the 14 day window, and then my 42mm order to back me up later!

My 38mm SS BCB finally arrived at around 5:50PM this evening! Setup went okay, although when I initially paired the watch, the app said it was paired but then said the pairing had failed. The second attempt worked just fine. Everything since then has worked perfectly. I used the Apple TV app to dial up an episode of American Horror Story, tested Siri by setting timers and reminders, and even read an email that came in while I was watching TV. The watch lights up with 100% consistency every time I twist my arm to look at it. Notifications also seem to work well.

My only complaint is that I wish they included an optional longer sized leather band. My wrist is about 177mm, and I'm 4 band holes from the end, which makes the buckle sit over towers the outside of my wrist rather than close to the center.
Also...the SS along with the black leather makes this watch look really dressy. I feel like I should be wearing a tux!
I definitely like the AW. I do intend to go the Apple store tomorrow to try a 42mm for comparison, but I don't feel like the 38 is small to the point of being unusable.
Hope everyone gets theirs soon and enjoys them as much as I am!

Ordered tonight (wednesday) will I see it by Friday??

I am house sitting and wondering if I should have it sent here or to my home address?

That's what I would do as well. Try the 38mm, if it doesn't work for your return it. But maybe you will like the 38mm in real life day to day. I am kind of in the opposite boat. I had my mind set on the 38mm, but as I see pictures and look at my wrist (I have big wrists for a woman, when I tried on the modern buckle I needed a large) I'm considering a 42mm. I guess I'll try on a 42mm when I take my iPad to the apple store Friday

The try on session confused me even more. Lol.

I started looking at the 38 more out of price? But since I don't have dainty or delicate wrist I felt the 38 seemed to small. I'm bummed that the 42 seem to be moving so slow as after several try on apt with apple I know I would not be happy with the smaller size.

Lol at my two previous try on appointments I didn't even look at the 42mm....now I wish I had. It just looked so big! But I do wear bigger Michael Kors watches too, so I'm used to the larger sizes......ugh!!!

I'm afraid this will happen to me Friday. Then I'll have to return the 38mm and wait again

Ordered yesterday and tonight I was billed and its preparing to ship. It's for my wife, who initially ordered a pink buckle that never budged, she's been really patient. I'll continue to wait for my leather loop.

Thanks to the OP for sharing this.

I received mine today as well, after a day delay. I am really liking this watch a lot more than the sport. The stainless steel looks classy and the band is much better than the sport band.

I ordered the Milanese band through band exchange, but am thinking I might keep this classic instead.

Looks good on my 3D printed watch charging stand.

Depends on your location.
Somehow Europe has come to a hold on deliveries. No major movements on orders THIS WEEK. Ordered my watch last Friday (38mm SS BCB), no movement, in the UK.
This is a difference to the US, ordering today, day after tomorrow delivered.

Want a watch fast??? Order today and it ships!!

Well I'm in America so I was wondering if they're still shipping fast lol. I'm gonna jump the gun and order one. Honestly the 38 will probably look better than the 42 on my wrist as I want something sleek and professional enough to wear everyday.

I have rather skinny wrists for a guy.

I pulled the trigger and ordered a 42mm apple watch sport with white band. It's saying shipping in July for my email confirmation. You guys think it might ship end of June?

I ordered a 38mm SS BCB yesterday at 1pm EST and I was charged at 10pm EST last night and was "Preparing for Shipment" at that time. So 9 hours from order to preparing, I can't wait! I really wanted a watch before heading off to WWDC and now I definitely will.

I went to an Apple Store yesterday and here is the 38mm on my wrist, thoughts on if it is too small?

Looks perfect. Did you try the credit card test? I fall under category B and I think the 38mm would be a better fit for me after weeks of debate :p

Yes, I did do the credit card test and I was also in category B. My wrist width is 55mm FWIW.

It was weird at the store yesterday. When you're looking at both, the 38mm looks TINY and the 42mm looks like an iPhone 6+. Once you stop looking at the 42mm then suddenly the 38mm looks great. The power of perception.

Exactly my dilemma. I do have larger watches than the 38mm Watch, but the 42mm :apple: Watch for some reason looks too large on my wrist and also feels rather large for day to day use.

I ordered mine on Monday and it sat in processing until last night and finally switched to preparing to ship. Hoping I get a shipment notice today and get it Saturday

I think the size is perfect on your wrist.

Just Ordered mine this morning 38mm sport with Black band. The other 2 42mm no action yet so I will try it. It may be smaller and not so clumsy in a suit :)
